I'm trying to beat my misery
I don't want to go across the sea
And if I could take you everywhere there
would be no reason for my dispear

And I know we won't touch for months
and your smell will evade me
But our love could survive a war
without the slightest sore

I know you suffer from my art
always pulling us apart
Your forever in my brain
even when I cause you pain

And I know I can't taste your skin
with an ocean between us
But our love is a dinosaur, hear it rawr

And I know we won't touch for months
and your smell will evade me
But our love could survive a war
without the slightest sore
And I know I can't taste your skin
with an ocean between us
But our love is a dinosaur, hear it rawr

General Commentoh i thought it was like a dinosaur, because it was so massive and loud. cos otherwise it contradicts badly.

General Commentthis song is a song that the lead singer wrote in all of ten minutes while waiting at the airport to go on a tour overseas. its was written for his girlfriend...

General Commenti love this song, might just be my new favourite. it's just so sweet and simple. pretty sure this is the one darren wrote when he said he was overseas (recording the album i'm guessing) and missing his girlfriend. and i think the meaning or rather the feelings really come through coz it's just nice and acoustic. makes me wish i had someone to miss me!
and not to nitpick, but it's 'you suffer for my art' not 'from' in the lyrics =)

My InterpretationI think the song is about their love being like the race of dinosaurs. Meaning that it is destined to fail for some reason. He is comparing that to the way the dinosaurs will die from meteors nomatter what they did. So really its a love song, in which he wants to spend time with his loved one before they are seperated for some reason. This is how i see this song lyrics anyways.

General Commentwhilst i agree with xJayKayx, it seems a little bit odd to be writing about how "But our love could survive a war" yet it is still apparently also about how their love will come to an eventual end. It does seem like a valid explanation for the dinosaurs, and i don't have ay other connection. but, jsut a thought......abit contradictory, no?

General CommentDohwww :( this song suits my situation. My boyfriend is probably going interstate for work.... For a few months... I'm in complete love with him and am hopeless without him... 'i know we won't touch for months... And your smell will evade me'

I was going to work full time like he does but I decided to study art... He's 'suffering for my art'

too bad is an awesome song :'(

My InterpretationI believe this to be about a boy and a girl, and the boy has to leave for some reason. He doesnt want to but he has to. All he wants to do is be with her even if they fight. He refers to a dinosaur because of how loud and powerful they were. In all the movies you hear the dinosaur "roaring" from a great distance. Distance being the key word there. They may have a very large 'distance' between them, but they will still love each other and not forget them.
