"Wanderlust" as written by Ahmad Balshe, Joseph Brady Bostani, Selfia Musmin, Jason Quenneville, Danny Schofield, Albert C J Berth Tamaela, Abel Tesfaye and Pharrell Williams....
I've drowned my conscience and cast another stone
I took to preaching while dancing on the code
I can't see where I've been and only god knows where I'll be
But there must be a place for a wretch like me

Oh, lord knows I'm tired
But I, I, I won't rest my head until I'm home
And if my hands find themselves another body, well
You can't blame them for trying to keep warm

Morals are simply a matter of time
And where you lay your head's a question of pride
But when it's said and done you'll find in the light
That privilege and wit make me misfortune's child

Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down
Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around
And when they take my head and put it on a stake
I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake
Bartering your figure for a paralyzing love
What have you done?
What have you done?

I tipped the scaffold and laughed until I fell
Girl if you need me, grab another from the well
I can't imagine what hell has in store
But I know if I'm there I won't wander anymore

Oh, lord knows I'm tired
But I, I, I won't rest my head until I'm home
And if my hands find themselves another body, well
You can't blame them for trying to keep warm

Oh, lord knows I'm weak
But I, I, I can't clear my head if I'm asleep

Morals are simply a matter of tide
And where you lay your head's a question of pride
But when it's said and done you'll find in the light
That privilege and wit make me misfortune's child

Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down
Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around
And when they take my head and put it on a stake
I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake

We've lived under this dark cloud forever
Waited for the bad light to break

Just let me tell that one again
With a little more feeling
We slept at the crossroads together
Tried to make an honest mistake
Just let me tell that one more time
Without a smile on my face

And now the road is empty
As every promise is
If life is pointless then point taken, say amen
So light another candle and point my body out to sea
Because your heart is no place for a wretch like me

Another stranger passing
A common dissonance
If life is pointless then point taken, say amen
So light another candle and point my body out to sea
Because your side is no place for a wretch like me

When they unearth these passages
Will I appear to be proud
Not if you're listening close enough
Not if you're sounding it out

General CommentI'M UNSURE ABOUT THIS ONE BUT I'M DAMN SURE THAT IT STARTS WITH A C

"I took to preaching while dancing on the "coast or cove""

"Morals are simply a matter of TIME"

"Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down.
Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around."

"I can't imagine what hell MIGHT HAVE in store"

I'M UNSURE OF IT BEING LIGHT, BUT IT'S STARTS WITH AN L. FER SURE. FO SHO.
"Morals are simply a matter of time
And where you lay your head's a question of pride.
"BUT when it's said and done you'll find in the "light"
THAT privilege and wit make me misfortune's child""

DARK CLOUD SOUNDS RIGHT. DUNNO 'BOUT BED LIGHT THOUGH, CUZ IT DOESN'T SEEM TO MAKE MUCH SENSE.
ALSO I'D BE MORE SECURE OF IT SAYING DARK CLOUD IF I KNEW WHAT THAT FRICKIN' SECOND PART WAS.
"We've lived under this "dark cloud" forever
waiting for the "bed light" to break."

"And now the road is empty
    as every promise is."

I HOPE THAT HELPS A LITTLE.
This song is amazing though. I'm in awe of their new sound. They know how to change and change right.
I'm very impressed at how much lyric you interpreted thus far. I especially like this part, and the lyrics are nuts!

And now the road is empty.
    as every promise is,
If life is pointless then point taken, say amen.
So light another candle and point my body out to sea,
Because your heart is no place for a wretch like me.

    Another stranger passing.
    A common dissonance.
If life is pointless then point taken, say amen.
So light another candle and point my body out to sea,
Because your side is no place for a wretch like me.

    When they unearth these passages,
Will I appear to be proud?
Not if you're listening close enough.
Not if you're sounding it out.

    A COMMON DISSONANCE.
    Amazing!

General CommentFree spirited vagrant not willing to settle down and knows it's for the best. Justification for disconnect? maybe.

General CommentI'm pretty sure this song's about cheating on someone. "morals are simply a matter of time" saying that you may want to stay true but sooner or later you'll break "and where you lay your head is a question of pride" as in if you decide to cheat is a matter of how proud of yourself you are and how much self control you have "and if my hands find themselves another body you can't blame them for tryin to keep warm" you may want to stay true but you don't have the will power to do it. Just my opinion on the song... awesome album!

General CommentThis song is amazing. The lyrics are mind blowing. Can't wait for CD. New Junk Aesthetic is going to be orgasmic.
"Morals are simply a matter of tide."
I hear, "Morals are simply a matter of time." I'm probably wrong, but just sayin'.

General CommentThis is right out of the lyric book:

I dropped my conscious and cast another stone.
I took to preaching while dancing on the coals.
I can't say where I've been and only god knows where I'll be but there must be a place for a wretch like me.
Oh, lord knows I'm tired but I won't rest my head until I'm home. And if my hands find themselves another body, well, you can"t blame them for trying to keep warm.
Morals are simply a matter of time. And where you lay your heads a question of pride.
But, when its said and done, you'll find it in the lines that privilege and wit made me misfortunes child.
Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down. Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around. And when they take my head and put it on a stake I'll know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead men awake.
Bartering your vigor for paralyzing love. What have you done?
I took the scaffold and laughed until I fell.
Girl if you need me, grab another from the well.
I can't imagine what hell might have in store but I know once I'm there I won't wander anymore.
Oh lord know I'm tired but I won't rest my head until I'm home.
And if my hands find themselves another body, well, you can't blame them for trying to keep warm. Oh, lords knows I'm tired but I won't rest my head until I'm home.
And if my hands find themselves another body, well, you can't blame them for trying to keep warm.
Oh, lord knows I'm weak but I can't clear my head if I'm asleep.
Morals are simply a matter of time. And where you lay your heads a question of pride.
But when its said and done, you'll find it in the lines that privilege and wit made me misfortunes child.

General CommentHere are the entire CORRECT lyrics. Enjoy.

    -------------------------------------------------

I've drowned my conscience and cast another stone.
I took to preaching while dancing on the COALS.
I can't see where I've been and only god knows where I'll be.
But there must be a place for a wretch like me.

    Oh, lord knows I'm tired,
But I won't rest my head until I'm home.
And if my hands find themselves another body, well,
You can't blame them for trying to keep warm.

Morals are simply a matter of time,
And where you lay your head's a question of pride.
But when it's said and done you'll find in the LINES,
That privilege and wit MADE me misfortune's child.

Can't tell collapse that it needs to slow down.
Can't tell death that it shouldn't come around.
And when they take my head and put it on a stake,
I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake.

Bartering your VIGOR for a paralyzing love,
    What have you done?

I TOOK the scaffold and laughed until I fell.
Girl if you need me, grab another from the well.
I can't imagine what hell MIGHT HAVE in store,
But I know ONCE I'm there I won't wander anymore.

    Oh, lord knows I'm tired,

And if my hands find themselves another body, well
You can't blame them for trying to keep warm.

And when they take my head and put it on a stake,
I know that guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake.

We've lived under this dark cloud forever.
Waited for the bad LUCK to break.

Just let me TRY that one again,
    With a little more feeling.
We slept at the crossroads together,
TRYING to make an honest mistake.
Just let me TRY that one more time,
Without a smile on my face.

    ANOTHER the road is empty.

General CommentSeems to me, as above, to be about infidelity, as anybody that's tried desperately hard "to make an honest mistake" will agree. Specifically though, I feel there's an air of self-loathing here, the protagonist is disgusted by his own behaviour and consumed by guilt, but unable to resist his compulsions. "...guilt and disgrace keep the dead man awake..." Seems fairly self-explanatory, as with the crescendo "when they unearth these passages, will I appear to be proud, not if you're listening close enough......"
