"Guns" as written by Joseph Ross Westerlund, Bradley William Cook and Phil Cook....
these hands will never rest
these hands will never rest
we cling as one
beneath the lowest rung
bound and blessed
to overcome

the weary will protest
the weary will protest
until the calm
of death becomes a lock
and we obtain
my heart's refrain

all we'll ever be
all we'll ever be

they'll beat us with their guns
they'll meet us with their guns
convinced they've won
they'll be the first to hum
the song we learned
from tired tongues

the sun will never set
the sun will never set
for us to rest
we'll be the last to go
into the throng
when darkness grows

all we'll ever be
all we'll ever be

all we'll ever be
all we'll ever be

all we'll ever be

General CommentWell, I believe the song is based off of a book (not sure which one), but it is also a semi-tribute to the Lemp Neighborhood Arts Center based in St. Louis, MO.
