In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
It’s my honor to describe your memories of everything that takes you…
…Steals your breath away,
Away from all that’s precious like the bright rays of the moon,
That cast a shadow on your window.
Nothing to fear, except dark,
Which the moon destroys in the night without stopping.
We all bleed the same.
We all bleed the same color, but yours is black and red.
It’s ok. That’s just fine.
Be mine. I need someone to love
Don’t stop now
When I fall off the wings of a…
Don’t stop now
Just when I’m starting to…
Don’t stop now.
When you smile I just want to breakdown.
…Steals your breath away,
Away from all that’s precious like the bright rays of the moon,
That cast a shadow on your window.
Nothing to fear, except dark,
Which the moon destroys in the night without stopping.
We all bleed the same.
We all bleed the same color, but yours is black and red.
It’s ok. That’s just fine.
Be mine. I need someone to love
Don’t stop now
When I fall off the wings of a…
Don’t stop now
Just when I’m starting to…
Don’t stop now.
When you smile I just want to breakdown.

i fucking loovvvvee this song. "when you smile i just want to breakdown" amazing.i think its about a girl who's suffering from heartbreak, and the guy loves her, so he wants to make her his so she can be happy, so they both can be happy for once. thats what i get out of it. i love abr. the old lyrics were the best. constellations is awesome but lyrically i think its a step down from thrill seeker and this and ect. the new sound is 100X better. these guys have progressed so much its amazing. but the older lyrics just completely blow me away.
Agreed 100% I actually emailed ABR a while back and asked for these lyrics and this is what they gave me they said "the quality was crap" but honestly still this song is just great. They have progressed and I still love all the lyrics the same but the old ones seem to have more intensity.
