"When We First Met" as written by and Forrest Kline....
When we first met
Your hair was long and brown
You hadn't yet cut it all off
And now it's long once again, oh
Oh, it's long once again

As I kept track of every haircut that we ever had
I could, I could see how long it had been, oh
Oh, how long it had been

And this thought, made it clearer
I ought to be near her

All I see is where our days repeat
And our love goes on
As our hair grows long

Oh, Chelsea Lynn
I watched your hair grow from the root to tip
I know, I know I have always known
And I always will know
Oh, oh
That I could have a single direction until I am dead
I'll go, I'll go as I always have gone, and
And I always will go
Oh, oh

This thought made it clearer
I ought to be near her

All I see is where our days repeat
And our love goes on
As our hair grows long
As our hair grows long

General Commentawww, this song is so cute. I love the way it's got a feel-good feeling to it and makes me want to dance but still maintains the subtleness of a meaningful love song.

I'm not sure if that makes much sense, but anyway, I love this song!

General CommentReally digging the new direction they are going in. This song is obviously about the growth of their love, and just judging by a lot of songs off of ZAVD, Chelsea is really his biggest inspiration for most of his songs. How awesome must that make her feel?

I just have a few minor corrections that I hear more than your version:

    And our LOVE grows on
    As our hair grows long.

    Oh Chelsea Lynn,
I watched your hair grow from the root to tip
I know, I know as I always have known,
    And I always will know
    Oh, oh
    That I could have
A single of accidents oh, I am dead (not quite sure about this line either, but I hear the word "accidents" in there...)
I'll go, I'll go as I always have gone, and
    And I will always go

General CommentI think the lyrics are correct. The only thing I'm not sure about is if he says "nearer" or "near her." Not a big deal really.

Oh yeah, this song is amazing!!!! I made the mistake of waiting for it to go up on AP.net before I left for work. I managed to get a couple more listens in at lunch, but this song was stuck in my head the whole day. That's a good thing though, I was humming and smiling all day. :)

General CommentHere are the lyrics from the CD insert :)

    When we first met
Your hair was long and brown
    you hadn't yet
cut it all off and now
    it's long once again
    oh it's long once again

    As I kept track
    of every hair cut
    we ever had
i could see how long it had been
oh how long it had been

    This thought made it clearer
that I ought to be nearer

all I see is where our days repeat
and love goes on as our hair grows long

    Oh Chelsea Lynn
    I've watched your hair grow
    From root to tip
    I know, I know
    As i always have known
    And I always will know
That I could head a single direction
    Till I am dead
I go, I go as I always have gone
    And I always will go

General CommentLike most hellogoodbye songs, this is about longterm relationships. He enjoys watching his partner change through the years

General CommentI definitely think this song is a metaphor about the emotional baggage that develops throughout a relationship.

    "When we first met
Your hair was long and brown
You hadn't yet cut it all off"

Here he's talking about baggage from a past relationship the girl had before they met, then they got into a relationship and it's long once again.
He then goes on to talk about haircuts, which could probably talking about problems within the relationship which kind of lifts the burden of them

Then throughout the song he talks about seeing the girls hair grow long as the days grew on, which is just all the problems and such that goes on throughout a relationship but he really loves this girl because he sees they can talk about it and get haircuts and whatnot haha.

Just the way I see it :p
