I'm not playing this game no more
I'm not a medicine, so call the medics
You're all as dumb as you were before
Don't ask me questions
I won't explain it
It should be fun, but it's getting old
I take my medicine to be your favorite man

You think you understand but you don't
You've got no idea at all
And in between the sentence
There's still assemblance
Intelligently screwed

Oh yeah, it's all right
'Cause I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right
Oh yeah, it's all right
I can love you like a sailor
I can make you dance all night

Maybe you'll understand when I'm gone
That you had no idea at all
That in this very second
I'll never mention the dreams I keep from you

Oh yeah, it's all right
'Cause I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right
Oh yeah, it's all right
I can love you like a sailor
I can make you dance all night
Oh yeah, it's all right
'Cause I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right
I can be your favorite man

Don't mean to sound like a rotten boy
For all my blessings, I'm surely grateful
'Cause I'm the dream you've been waiting for
I always dreamt that I would be your favorite

Oh yeah, it's all right
'Cause I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right
Oh yeah, it's all right
I can love you like a sailor
I can make you dance all night
Oh yeah, it's all right
I got a pretty face
I guess that I can sing all right
I can be your favorite man

so far this is one of the only songs of the album I like. but that's just listening to it once through. when I get the whole album and listen a couple times, then idk. but this song is really good, it sounds like their old stuff.

Now here's what I got for a meaning from this song...

He was acting like someone he's not, to keep the interest of this girl. "It should be fun, but it's getting old, I take my medicine to be your favorite man" But now he's decided that he's just going to be himself. "I'm not playing this game no more, I'm out of medicine, so call the medics" She thinks she understands him, but she really only knows the 'fake' him. "You think you understand but you don't, You've got no idea at all" Now that he's acting like his true self now, he starts to see the good things about himself. "Oh yeah, it's all right, 'Cause I got a pretty face, I guess that I can sing all right" Now here's the main theme in a lot of Cobra songs, that if they just keep dancing everything will be fine. But I don't understand the sailor part..? "Oh yeah, it's all right, I can love you like a sailor, I can make you dance all night" He hopes that when the 'fake' him is gone, she'll see that he was just pretending to be someone who he wasn't. "Maybe you'll understand when I'm gone, That you had no idea at all" He sees that the 'real' him is really an alright person, and he just wants to be himself, and hopes that the girl still loves him. "Don't mean to sound like a rotten boy, For all my blessings, I'm surely grateful, 'Cause I'm the dream you've been waiting for, I always dreamt that I would be your favorite" So yeah, if that made any sense, that's what I got out of this song..

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
