This place is many things,… but I’d never… call it home,
It’s just a building in a city, everywhere I go/
This place is many things,… but I can’t call it home,
Home is the voice that I hear, every night… on the phone/

And I’ve done a few things, I wasn’t proud of,
Might of said a few things that hurt you,
But you’re still the only one, who fills me up,
And every night spent alone, was worth it/

You are my home, you are my everything, when I feel so alone,
You are my home, you are my shelter, …..when all my hope is gone/

And I’ve seen many things,… but they don’t look like home,
There just the bright-lights from a city glowing all night long,
And I’ve seen many faces, but they all look the same,
Home is the place you are, and I just wanna let you know/

That I’ve done a few things, I wasn’t proud of,
Might of said a few things that hurt you,
But you’re still the only one, who fills me up,
And all tears that we’ve shared, were worth it/

You are my home, you are my everything, when I feel so alone,
You are my home, you are my shelter, ….. when all my hope is gone/
You are my home, you are my everything, when I feel so alone,
You are my heart, you are the one, …when it all comes undone/
When it all comes undone, when it all comes undone/

You are my home, you are my everything, when I feel so alone,

You are my home, you are my shelter, ….. when all my hope is gone
You are my home, you are my everything, when I feel so alone,
You are my heart, you are the one, …when it all comes undone/

General CommentThis song was written for his wife, Erin. He says it right in the DVD that came with the special edition of Flame. But, I initially thought it was about God, and realizing that one day you will be home... your REAL home.

    General CommentAwsum song!!
The guitars create an atmosphere thats so rare (specially the chorus), and when he resonates "when it all comes undone" and the music cuts out. such a master piece musically and lyrically
I think he's talking about the hotel rooms he sits in when he tours. (This place is many things, but I'd never call it home, it's just a building in a city, everywhere I go)
home is where his wife is (Home is the voice that I hear, every night on the phone)talking about how he calls her every night.
the chorus he admits how he might've hurt her or said things that was stupid but continues to say how she's everything. I can only imagine his wifes reation when she first heard this song knowing it was about her!

General Commenti love the line "And every night spent alone, was worth it" It shows that he probably wanted to mess around with other girls, but he decided to hold out until the right person came along, and hes deciding that hes glad he waited so long :D

General CommentBeautiful song. Just not enough of a song for me. I need more. I want more. I won't accept less. Love the song more than any other in my lifetime, but I won't settle.
