I can't find a heartbeat in this city,
Give me the right to be amazed,
No one ever justified
The fact that you can't touch the sky,
In this day and age
We are forced to climb inside your ribcage.

One thing you will learn in time:
Things are always fine,
One thing you will learn tonight:
Everything is always alright.

No one here can read and thats a pity,
You keep staring at the empty page,
Ever corner that you turn
You see a married couple eating worms,
This place is strange;
It goes on and on and it's never gonna change

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na x2

Surprise, surprise;
Time flies at the bottom of this bottle,
And if you don't mind I'd like to find
Somewhere else to live
Before I'm old,
Because I'm younger than I feel,
Younger than I feel.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na x2

    General CommentI think this song is about feeling that life is stagnant and alcoholism is no longer an adequate method of coping with the lack of progress ;
    "Time flies at the bottom of this bottle,
    And if you don't mind I'd like to find
    Somewhere else to live"
    Time is flying, but as always this is at the cost of efficient useage of that time. Maybe finding "somewhere else to live" is meant to mean finding some other way of living - finding a way of life that is fresh and progressive rather than stagnant and preventative of emotional progress away from the black hole of self-pity (and alcoholism as the last-resort defense against self-hatred. "Time flies at the bottom of thia bottle" because no-one has managed to escape the feeling that there life is suspended in time whilst the months and years elude.

    General CommentThe song's title is ironic. "Future's Bright, Man". This song sings about a world where everything has gone down hill. The city doesn't seem alive, no one is educated, people are on the streets. Future is dull, man.
