Don't leave, I'm here
And I'm not going anywhere
Shooting stars and constellation hype and skyline lights
Heart of diamonds, unbreakable
Give it all you've got just this one shot,
It's you and me, girl

We can wake this town if we wanna be loud
If you don't hold out then I wont hold out
It's on your lips, in your teeth and your tongue in my cheek
I've never had anything taste so sweet

A dream, imagine
Colors you'd take like medicine
Decadence is overrated with a girl like this
A crime of passion, breathtaking attraction
Let the cameras roll, we're on our own
It's you and me and we'll never get old

We can wake this town if we wanna be loud
If you don't hold out then I wont hold out
It's on your lips, in your teeth and your tongue in my cheek
I've never had anything taste so sweet

Sat on the shelves for too long
We woke up, moved on
All by ourselves brought up
And bring down what’s around us
We’ll have our town

We can run 'til we fall down
Break out, never turn around turn around
Sit on the grass with the stars as lights
Create our own town every night

We can run 'til we fall down
Break out, never turn around turn around
Sit on the grass with the stars as lights
Create our own town every night

We'll wake this town up

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
