If I die at twenty three
Won't you bury me
In the sunshine?
Please let me know
That you're still mine
Though I'm gone
My love for you
Is, oh, so strong

And when the grass grows over me
Let me know
You still love me
Never put nobody else
Above me
Then I'll know
My love for you
Will always grow

This song reminds me of the torment that widows, in this case, young widows must face: whether to preserve the love once shared with a mere memory, or to remarry for company and/or solace. The point of view comes from a man asking his lover if he were to die while still young, if she will stay faithful though he is no longer present in the relationship. He tells her that if she can honestly say yes, then he will love her that much more.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
