Ooh oh oh oh, ooh oh oh oh
Be careful making wishes in the dark
Can't be sure when they've hit their mark
And besides in the meantime I'm just dreaming of tearing you apart
I'm in the details with the devil
So now the world can never get me on my level
I just got to get you out of the cage
I'm a young lovers rage
Gonna need a spark to ignite
My songs know what you did in the dark

So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire
So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire

Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)
Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)

All the writers keep writing what they write
Somewhere another pretty vein just dies
I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see
That you're the antidote to everything except for me
A constellation of tears on your lashes
Burn everything you love
Then burn the ashes
In the end everything collides
My childhood spat back the monster that you see
My songs know what you did in the dark

So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire
So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire

Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)
Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)

My songs know what you did in the dark
My songs know what you did in the dark

So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire
So light em up up up, light em up up up,
light em up up up, I'm on fire

Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)
Ooh oh oh oh (In the dark, in the dark)
Ooh oh oh

General Comment:The lyrics are for all of the fans who wanted fall out boy to come back, they are saying that they signed a deal with the devil the last time that they were out because they fell apart and stopped being who they started out to be, so they are telling their fans to take all of the things that they love and light them up, or in other words burn everything about us that you loved because we are not gunna be the same band that left, they are saying be careful what you wish for, they were being exploited by the labels to be cash cows, so they are saying that somewhere another pretty vein dies, it means that another artist, who changed for the label and became a cash cow just died, meaning another one of the cash veins was controlled and flown into the ground

General Comment:a) Guys, this isn't about relationships. It's about Fall Out Boy returning, saying how they aren't going to be the same, they're giving in to the mainstream, they're becoming exactly what everyone else wants them to be.
    b) AHHHHH. Love it. :3

General Comment:This songs is most definitely about how they are changing their style of music and becoming something new, something we haven't heard before. Watch the music video and the people in it are burning band equipment and magazines with Fall Out Boy on the cover (Making room for something completely different). I shall really miss the old style of their music, but this new song sounds promising!

    Song Meaning:From Grammy interview-

    Patrick Stump:
I guess to me, when I read the finished piece, it said to me...that kind of fury that you have when you're an adult which is a different one than the one you have when you're a teenager. 'cause when you're a teenager you can things like, these permanent things like "I hope you choke", and "I hope you die" and all these other things. When you're an adult, the people that you said that to when you were a teenager are still around, and you still have to interact with and that's like...and you have to figure out how to deal with that, and that's like permanent, and you just always have to...and that's the rest of your life.

Here I'm seething with anger, and I just have to..."hi". (waves) To me, that's a lot of what that song is when I read it, is like...it's so much of that anger but compressed into the smile that you have to have as a gentleman.

    Pete Wentz:
Like when you do take account of your life, sometimes it's alright to just burn it, raze it, and start fresh. I think that, for me, it's happened a couple times, and it's been, like, a healthy thing.

My Opinion:Honestly, this song reminds me A LOT of "Alpha Dog." They both have a dark, heavy sound that seems more angry at the world than any one person in particular

It sounds like he's talking to the fans. Like "Be careful what you wish for, we won't be the same". There's going to be a lot of emotional trauma because he's working for evil. But we were the thing he needed to get back together.

The chorus could be saying to reveal secrets we've kept.

The second versesays that writers will keep writing what they want, or what is popular. "Another pretty vein just dies" is some one cutting. The next line is saying that he knows what is going to happen. We can fix anything we want to except what him and what he's going to do. The "Constellation of tears on your lashes" could be tears of happiness that they've come back or tears of sadness when they leave again at which piont we will "burn what we love and burn the ashes" Meaning, we might hate them so much we want to get rid of everything we have of them. I don't know what the next line means but the one after that means that he is a product of his childhood, that he is a monster.

    The rest repeats.

I am so happy that Fall Out Boy is back :D!

General Comment:Title of the song sounds very much like it's for Fall Out Boy fans, especially from the Cork/Your Grave albums. "My songs know what you did in the dark" could reference songs like "My Heart is the Worst Kind of Weapon," "Tell That Mick...", "Get Busy Living or..." etc.

General Comment:Where did everyone find this song?
Was it one of those posts Pete does for 5 minutes on his blog? I've been gone so I am curious how this song popped up.
And I think it sounds like FUCT.
