See the clouds are creeping towards the sun
I’m slipping away unseen by anyone
The light is turning gray, the day is done

The water is cold and heavy on my mind
I dreamed of walking with you but I fell behind
Looking for a rose(or road) I could not find

Now the ice is stirring and spring is near
There is no one calling but the sound is clear
Though I’m not yet gone, I’m still not here

General CommentIf you can't get a grip on who you are, or why you're here, it's hard to get motivation to do anything. This song seems to be about this kind of existential crisis and the feelings of pointlessness and indirection that go along with that.

The clouds creeping towards the sun and the ice unfreezing in Spring are signs that time is running out.

The second verse shows that there is hope in love, which is why the protagonist dreams of walking alongside his love, but because he is so confused about life and what to do, he prioritizes the symbol (the "rose") over the love ("you") herself, and loses her.

Time is running out and unless Alexi figures out who he is, his life will end without ever committing to any purpose, and he'll be burned up by the approaching sun without figuring out his life's meaning.

General CommentThis song is so Nick Drake-ish in some way...
So intense and obscure... and I think there may be a connection with Crinan Wood

My InterpretationI think time has run out for him. He's dying, alone, maybe by accident in a shipwreck. He reminisces of the one he loved but lost because he got distracted looking for something he did not find.

The ice melting and spring are metaphors for leaving his body behind. Even though a shell remains, he is moving on, away from this world.

For some reason this song made me think of the end of "The Perfect Storm", where Mark Wahlberg is drifting away across the open ocean in his life jacket, after the storm cleared.
