"Dust On The Ground" as written by and Jack Steadman....
It's that ancient love
That you won't outgrow
It's the fee you pay
It's the debt you owe
Is that subtle way
That you throw me down
I am inches above
The dust on the ground

I await your call
I await your crown
Lets change our roads
And chase them all around
Is that subtle way
You throw me down
I am inches above
The dust on the ground

And all is quiet
All is quiet now
And all is silent
All is silent now
Now I don't hide it
I don't hide it now

It's that ancient love
That just moves along
And there's an itch so slight
Even when you're gone
Well I met you right
But I kept your wrong
And I must wait until I've found the ground that you are walking on

And all is quiet
All is quiet now
And all is silent
All is silent now
Now I don't hide it
I don't hide it now
Now I don't hide it
I don't hide it now

My InterpretationI think this is about that one true love, maybe it came too early on when they were too young and not mature enough, when neither were settled or ready to admit that this was it for them; so they parted. Now he's realising that they were wrong and everything's a mistake without her, he's going to have to wait for their paths to cross again and everything's just a waiting game till she comes back.

General CommentIs it not "Let's change our roads, and switch the mold around" rather than "Let's change our roads, and chase them all around"?

Under rated band, doing great songs. Song is about me, slowly learning that your are in a relationship that you shouldn't be in, just because you were childhood sweethearts is no reason to put up with their crap because you have never known anything different.

General Comment"It's that ancient love, that you won't outgrow" > someone you fall in love with, but never really get over

"I await your call, I await your crown
Let's change our roads, and chase them all around" > maybe he's waiting for her to come back?

"And all is silent, all is silent now
Now I don't hide it, I don't hide it now" > even though things are over, he's admits he still has feelings for that person

"There's an itch so slight, even when you're gone" > the "itch" is missing the person

"Well I met you right, but I kept you wrong" > it started off well, but he let her go

"And I must wait until I've found the ground that you are walking on" > and now he wants to find her again.

Anyway, there's my interpretation, I'm not so sure about it, but then I never really am with Bombay Bicycle Club lyrics. I like this song, but by far the best bit is the lead guitar riff for me.

My InterpretationI was listening to this song, and it just made me so sad, and I cried.

I feel like it's about someone that he never got over.

"It's always quiet now" Putting it that way implies that it wasn't always like this. They stopped talking.
    story of my life.

I don't know why it made me so sad, but it's just a really great song.

General CommentI can't believe Jack Steadman was still in school when he wrote this song. Very mature lyrics for what - a 16 year old (at the time)?

I treasure this song so much. The atmosphere of it is just breathtaking.

General CommentThe lead guitar riff in this song creates such a great atmosphere. I can't say i really know what the lyrics are about, but to me it sounds like it's about some kind of loss and there's an eerie silence and sense of regret left behind in the aftermath of it.

General Comment"I met you right, but I kept you wrong"

Such a good line, and the feeling is easy to relate to.
