Time’s been running out and
I have been betrayed.
Gotta cast my stone into the lake (didn't want me,didn’t feel the same,----?)
That’s all it takes my son,
Then you are safe.
When the echoes everythings’s open (can't take it back, take it back,--?)
Take my skin, we’re diving in.
It doesn’t make a difference if I sink or swim
There’s a line drawn thin,
Or so they tell me.
I’m over in all the difference
If we sink or swim.

Is it real, the choices that we make?
The smiles that we fake? (Is it real?)
I know it hurts but is it real? (Is it real?)
The choices that we make, the smiles that we fake?
For my own sake, I know it hurts but,
Is it?

I can’t help feeling like I’ve been betrayed.
You should’ve cast that stone into the lake. (stone into the –sounds like road?-)
Chased in the wrong direction, led astray.
And I know you don’t believe a single word you’ve said (I don't believe that you did)

Take my skin, we’re diving in. (we’re diving in)
Doesn't make a difference if I sink or swim.
There’s a line drawn thin, or so they tell me.
I’m over in all the difference if we sink or swim.

Is it real, the choices that make? (Is it real?)
The smiles that we fake? (Is it real?)
I know it hurts, but it is real?
The choices that we make,(Is it real?)
The smiles that we fake ?
For my own sake, I know it hurts
But is this real?
Is this real?

I don’t want to buy into the light,
Stare up at the sky.
But is it real?
Show me something real.
I don’t want to buy into your lies,
Stare up at the sky and say:
“I’ll surrender myself for this, I’ll take the blame.” (I’ll take the blame)
“I’ll surrender myself for this, I’ll take the blame.” (Oh oh)

For peace, for war,
For rich, or poor,
For loss, for gain, for everything,
That I love, that I’ll see (--?)
I’ll feel I’ll become one with what’s not real to me (--?)
So I’ll stare in sideways, forward, backwards
Just to realize we all fall down.

Is it real, the choices that we make?
The smiles that we fake? (Is it real?)
Just tell me is this, is it real?
The choices that we make, the smiles that we fake?
For my own sake, I know it hurts but,
Is this real?
Is this real?(Is it real?)
I need to know, is this real?

--I know not all of it's right, anyone have it all?

General CommentHere are the correct lyrics from the cd booklet:

Times running out and i haven't been saved
Gotta cast my stone into the lake
(It didn't work, it didn't feel that sacred)
Thats all it takes my son then you are safe
When the end comes everything is okay
(You take, take it back then you take it away)
    Save my skin
    We're diving in
It doesn't make a difference if I sink or swim
There's a line drawn thin or so they tell me
I'll never know the difference if we sink or swim

Is it real? The choices that we make
    The smiles that we fake
I know it hurts but is it real?
    The choices that we make
The smiles that we fake for my own sake
I know it hurts but is it...

That I can't help feeling like I've been betrayed
You should've cast that stone into the lake
Chased in the wrong direction, led astray
And I know you don't believe a single word you say

    Save my skin
we're diving in it doesn't make a difference if I sink or swim
There's a line drawn thin or so they tell me
I'll never know the difference if we sink or swim

Is it real? The choices that we make
    The smiles that we fake
I know it hurts but is it real?
    The choices that we make
The smiles that we fake for my own sake. I know it hurts but is it...

    Is this real?
I dont'want to buy into the lie. Stare up at the sky. But is it real?
    Show me something real
I don't want to buy in to your lies, stare up at the sky and sing

    I surrender myself for this
    I'll take the blame
    (I'll take the blame)
    I'll surrender myself for this
I'll take the blame all for peace or war,for rich or poor, for loss for gain,
for everything thing that I love, I see, I feel I've become one with what's not real to me
So I'm staring sidways, forward, backward just to realize we all fall down

Is it real? The choices that we make
    The smiles that we fake.
Just tell me is this real?

    The choices that we make
The smiles that we fake for my own sake.
I know it hurts but is this real?
Is this real? is it real?
I need to know! Is this real?

General CommentThis song is amazing. I don't understand what exactly he's referring to. But I actually read someone's comment from another site and they interpreted it as him feeling he's been betrayed by God or his belief in some sort of spiritual thing (I'm not sure what it'd be since he's mormon. I'm not aware of their beliefs). Hence the line, "I don't want to buy into your lies, stare up at the sky and sing, I surrender myself for this."
The rest of the lyrics I think tie in well to that concept, but in some points I think he could just be questioning life in general. I'm not sure.

And about the "yelling in the background" during the bridge, I've been wondering what he says as well. I've just sent Cove a tweet so hopefully he can reply and let me know what he's saying. If so, I'll post it up on here.

General CommentI asked Cove about the background yelling thing. And he says this:

"It’s just another pyramid scheme walk away, you won't be safe. It’s just another make belief, walk away, walk away, you won't be saved."
