Lifting the weight of the world

So take this lung full of pure inspiration
Inhale this lung full to make me smile
And then we'll talk up a real conversation

So take this lung full, become more interesting
Now in your head
The thoughts that you see are depicted so marvelously
So now you see that the weight has lifted
And all your thoughts start to move fluently

I want to know what it is that you see depicted so gloriously

Burn it down, Burn it down, Burn it down
Set yourself free, burn it down

So tell me what it is that you see
Please tell me, describe it's beauty
And then tell me what it is that you see

Depicted so marvelously
In your own head, haunted still by me
Still depicted so violently, so burn them down

Inhale this lung full of pure inspiration
And I promise that all your burden and worry will disappear
In a plume of smoke, in a plume of smoke

Burn it down, set yourself free

General Comment"And then we'll talk up a real conversation, So take this lung full, become more interesting" - When you're high, its much easier to make conversation. You can take the smallest subject and elaborate on it infinitely.

"The thoughts that you see are depicted so marvelously, I want to know what it is that you see depicted so gloriously" - There is nothing better than explaining in the highest detail your views on everything, and sharing them when you're stoned.

All i can say is BURN ONE.

General CommentI honestly lost a bit of respect for this band after reading some of their lyrics.
I find it quite confusing if the lyrics for LIFTED is about a drug addict and how that's "not him"
and that isn't what he's supposed to do. And then they have their song SMOKE that's about getting high (it's quite obvious) and how they just want to "burn one up." Sounds hypocritical to me.. in a way I suppose. But the whole "hating god" thing they have going on doesn't really bother me, I can respect their opinions.

General CommentTo make it clear for you(mollymonster) or anyone else with the same misconception...Lifted is about the fake artificial high people get from pills and any hard drug like cocaine, ex..which he is totally against because it puts you in a false sense of reality(which i agree with)...the idea behind Smoke though is about truly getting lifted(with the help of marijuana which is a NATURAL lifting, not an ARTIFICAL one*terminology is important*) to get past the social establishments that hold us down today aka the government and religion and their false conception of "god"
just like SS says in their first song, its time to WAKE THE FUCK UP and think for yourself and stop letting everyone control YOUR life.

General CommentLifted is about him telling his mom to ONLY smoke weed and forget all the crazy shit she does, and THIS is about a man who thinks he's nothing when he's not high.Allll from Mitch himself.

    General CommentPeople people people.

Seriously, it's just a fucking song about Marijuana.
And Mitch's take on it, his experiences, what he feels.
    Exactly what any artist does.
And if you wanna be the stupid jackass to him "hypocritical" for it, then persist to look like a fucktard.
    Lifted is about Cocaine addiction.
Smoke is about the experience of being under the influence of tetrahydrocannabinol.
There's a MAJOR difference between the two, and if you can't see it, then don't be giving us your dumbfounded take on the song.

I love this song for everything it stands for.

"Burn it down, set yourself free"

If you've ever smoked bud before, you will know that no matter what device you use, you're burning it down when you inhale, not only the Marijuana itself, but your ego as well.
By set yourself free, he means, you're separating yourself from your mind, your ego, your thoughts, and bringing about new insight. If you've ever been greened out before, you'll know you're as free as a fucking bird.

    It's a beautiful thing.
