There's many who'll tell you they'll give you their love,
But when they say "give" they mean "take."
They"ll hang 'round just like vultures till push comes to shove.
They'll take flight when the earth starts to shake.

Someone may say that they'll always be true,
Then slip out the door 'fore the dawn.
But I won't leave you hanging on.
Another may stay till they find someone new,
Then before you know they'll be gone.
But I won't leave you hanging on;
No, I won't be that someone.

And come what may, I won't abandon you or leave you behind
Because love is a loyalty sworn, not a burning for a moment.
And come what may, I will be standing right here by your side;
I won't run away, though the storm's getting worse and there's no end in sight.

Some talk of destiny, others of fate,
But soon they'll be saying goodbye.
But I won't leave you high and dry.
Because a ring don't mean nothing
If you can't haul the weight,
And some of them won't even try,
But I won't leave you high and dry;
I won't leave you wondering why.

And storms will surely come,
But true love is a choice you must make
And you're the one that I have set my heart to choose.
As long as I live, I swear I'll see this through.

    General CommentI think this is unquestionably a love song. It's an interesting one to say the least but definitely in a good way. One of the best off the new album.

    I also wanted to comment that I don't think this album is a fusion of any of their previous material. I think this is true progression. For better or for worse, this is progression.

    General CommentMan God bless Dustin. What a tribute to the institution of marriage here in this song, I love his lyrics so much. I originally thought he wrote this about his love for Jesus, but with the lyric "a ring don't mean nothing if you can't haul the weight" it truely hits home that this song is about his love for his wife. In a society where you can get a divorce if you wake up one day and don't think you love your spouse anymore, he bashes that notion with powerful, emotional lyrics. Great job Dustin, great job Thrice!

    General CommentI have a feeling that the sound of this album is going to be a fusion of vheissu and TAA:Earth. We'll see. let's hope for no delays on the release.

    General CommentCorrect lyrics but the form is all off, the commas are in incorrect spots for the way the song is sung.

    General CommentWhat a man of character, holy shit. I could picture Dustin's wife reading it to their daughter every night.

    General CommentIt's about the commitment of marriage. True love in real life is not an automatic burning emotion, it's the dedication to constantly choose to love and do what is right by your spouse. It's tough and the weight of it should not be taken lightly. The last verse sums it up very well.

    General CommentYeah definitely about marriage.
    A ring dont mean nothing if you cant haul the weight.
    Epic line...in a world where people treat marriage like a joke, Dustin's keepin it real.
