"Orange Shirt" as written by Wes Miles and Rostam Batamanglij....
I'm walkin' past your house
But I'm never gonna stop there
Just to look at my clock and think how
You love talking fast
And every sound that I hear from you mouth is so deliberate
So maybe I can but maybe you will know
Never nice at all but we can work it out
Always sexy when you chew that straw
Especially when you wear Lacoste

All this lust that you're keeping
And me I've got a crush
Can I sleep inside I know you're nervous though
So I promise to leave before your mother wakes up in the morning

We're sleeping head to toe
And everything that I wanna know
Is on a local train outside of Tokyo
Living in a tiny, overcrowded town

Still you won't call me back
And every text that I get from you is so so serious
But I'm sitting at home sippin' this Miso
Ticking raindrops upon my window pane
You're texting too fast for me to reply
Never looking when you type T9

All this love that you're keepin'
And me I've got a crush
Can I sleep inside I know you're nervous though
So I promise to leave before your mother wakes up in the morning

Sleep on the train to Tokyo
Google yourself when you get home
Sleep on the train to Tokyo
Google yourself when you get home

All this love that you're keepin'
And me I've got a crush, and me I've got a crush
All this love, this love
All this love
All this love that you're keepin'
And me I've got a crush
And me I've got a crush

General CommentAccording to the booklet that came with the cd

'I'm walking past your house but I'm never going to stop THERE
JUST TO look at my clock and think how
    you love talking CATS....'

'.... ALWAYS SEXY HOW YOU CHEW THAT STRAW
    especially when you WEAR LACOSTE'

'all this LUST that you're keeping....'

'.... LIVING in a tiny, OVERCROWDED town...'

'.... TICKING raindrops upon my window pane
YOU'RE texting too fast for me to reply....'

I think everything else is right on. Great song.

Song MeaningHoly Shit this album is amazing one of my favoritess. From what I can understand, Its all based on his one experience with a girl he met in Japan if im not mistaken, to seeing her at a train station in "Osaka Loop" the songs are in order according to how things went down from Orange Shirt opening with him having a crush on a girl and "googling" himself to her when he got home, to finally asking her out in I wanna be your boyfriend, then to finally having sex with her in Slang Tang.

General CommentLike what Edoh said... LP... the meaning of the whole album (reinstating what Edoh said but more detailed) is he met a girl in Japan. "Orange Shirt" he has a crush on her and spoke with her through Google. (Orange Shirt could also be taken as if its her point of view because it talks about a person with a straw in mouth and an orange Lacoste shirt. Also the male usually does all the going around and he would be the one to take the train instead of a woman. Also it says I've got a crush more of a feminine thing than a male thing, but hey its whatever) LYRIC CORRECTION FOR ORANGE SHIRT (its "...you love talking fast, and every sound that I hear from your mouth is so deliberate..." i believe because she carefully considered what she was going to say [though it does sound like Cats] and also because he looked at his clock) In "Osaka Loop Line" its not a definite of who saw who but one of them saw the other and tried to catch their eye but was unsuccessful because the other was not looking. (also because of the crowd) From their perception they may have thought they were looking ahead when really the other was asleep. He can't get her off his mind in "Can You Discover." He then asked her out in "I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend." I think they break up in "So Insane." Its as if he falls to his knees because he feels like he wants to break up. He can't explain it because at the end its a mix of: "I don't know what to do" and "i do know what to do." I guess it goes to her side in "Swing Tree" and how simple it would be to be a boy. (Only because in the background it repeats "If I was a boy") She then thinks of how people all have their boyfriends and they drive off with them but she is left alone to walk by herself in "Carby." It switches again to his perspective most definitely because in "I Want You Back" he says "...let me show you girl..." In this song he explains what happened he says clearly "when i hacked into myself i didn't want you around," but he makes up his mind that he wants her back. Now in "Its Not My Fault (Its My Fault)" I believe she is having difficulties with him because he keeps saying its not his fault and sometimes saying its my fault. She doesn't think it will work out but she really wants it to work out. Its looking really bad. Then in "Slang Tang" they have make up sex all day. One of them feels as though they need to get up and wash the sheets because of it. after 3 months of listening to the album this is what I've come up with... IF YOU LIKE MY INTERPRETATIONS GIVE ME A PLUS... AND THANKS FOR READING!!!! (p.s. its very difficult to tell whose point of view is being told)

Song MeaningI hate to burst anyone's bubble, but the dude who wrote this (and many of the other songs) is gay. So they're all about dudes. Makes the songs even more epic, if you ask me.

General CommentGood start on the lyrics. To me, it sounds like:

"...'Cause I look at my clock and think how
    You love talking TYPES..."

"...Is on a local train outside of tokyo
LEAVING in a tiny OVERCROWDED town..."

"...Tick of 2 raindrops upon my window pane
FIXIN' TOO CLOSE WHEN YOU DO WHAT'S RIGHT..." <-- (that's what it sounds like phonetically; I know it doesn't make sense.)

My OpinionI really enjoy this new band, who is a compilation of Vampire Weekend and Ra Ra Riot if I'm not mistaken; this song is by far the best on their album which is full of potential...

General CommentIncredible song. It paints a vivid picture for me of an expat with a huge crush on a Japanese girl.
