Demi herself has never commented on the song's meaning, but a lot of Lovatics think it's about Demi's demons at the time she wrote the song. "I'm hearing myself thinking too clear", "The tension's...
I hear what you're not saying
It's driving me crazy
It's like we stopped breathing in this room

We're both the last to be leaving
I know what you're thinking
I wish you'd make your move

It's much too quiet in here
I wanna disappear
I'm hearing myself thinking too clear
It's too quiet in here
Make it all go away
Why can't we break this silence finally

It's like you know where I'm going
You follow me home
But I never invite you inside

I see what you're not showing
I got you alone but
The air is so still it's weird

It's much too quiet in here
I wanna disappear
I'm hearing myself thinking too clear
It's too quiet in here
Make it all go away
Why can't we break this silence finally

Don't stop don't stop
Telling me goodnight
Just promise you'll kiss me goodbye
What's taking so long

Don't tell me you're not goin' try
The tensions building in my mind
I want to scream and I know why

It's much too quiet in here
I wanna disappear
I'm hearing myself thinking too clear
It's too quiet in here
Make it all go away
Why can't we break this silence finally

Make it all go away
It's too quiet in here

My InterpretationIt's about a couple who doesn't have a good communication in the moment. The singer wants they keep together.

But the thing I like most to think about when listening is in how it explain well timidity, you can pretend the singer is singing about how it's hard to speak and how shy people feel when they keep there in silence. That's why I like this song, I'm one of these people.

"I know what you're thinking" when you keep imagining what other people are thinking about you and what you're going to say then what you really want is the other person say or do something to break the ice ("I wish you'd make your move").

"It's like you know where I'm going / You follow me home / But I never invite you inside" the person is interested in be your friend, know you... The person "know where you're going" = the person know you're thinking, maybe going to speak, "follow you home" = wants you to speak, "but I never invite you inside" = you never expresses what you're feeling, you never talk because of shyness.

    "Don't stop, don't stop
    Telling me goodnight
Just promise you'll kiss me goodbye
    What's taking so long?
Don't tell me you're not gonna try
The tension's building in my mind
I wanna scream and I know why"

This part is really more romantic but you can get it like you wanting the person interested in your friendship don't give up on you because you're timid, you want to scream because of shyness.

That's it... The good thing is I'm getting better at timidity because my psychologist is helping me. :)

General CommentI thought it was a heartbreak song at first. I thought it was about a couple just breaking up and both of them want to say something to each other, but also not wanting to give up their pride.

It could also be a song about a crush because you know that you two have a spark but neither one of you want to admit it or make a move on the other.

This relates to me because there's this guy I used to like and we both liked each other and we knew it, but neither one of us wanted to make a move. And now we're both in the same club (at school) and we always peek glances at one another but don't want to admit that we still like each other.

General Commenti think its about how the two of them have this amazing spark and they both know it. but they never cross over that line of being just friends no matter how hard or far it gets, and it's annoying cause she wants to be more than this

General CommentThis song kinda sounds like she's on a date or something and she wants him to make the first move but he won't do anything so its,
    "Much too quiet in here."

General CommentOh no wait...maybe its about this guy who she knows likes her and she likes him too, but they're both too afraid to do anything about it like,

    "You follow me home
But I never invite you inside
I see what you're not showing
    I've got you alone
But the air is so still, it's weird"

But she just wishes they would just say how they feel and get it over with Because she's like freaking out in her mind.

Hahahahahah! this so happened to me until my friend got bored of me always saying how much i liked him she just told him so then he asked me out :)
