My ship went down in a sea of sound
When I woke up alone, I had everything
A handful of moments, I wished I could change
And a tongue like a nightmare that cut like a blade

In a city of fools, I was careful and cool
But they tore me apart like a hurricane
A handful of moments, I wished I could change
But I was carried away

Give me a therapy, I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling at everything
Therapy, you were never a friend to me
And you can keep all your misery

My lungs gave out as I faced the crowd
I think that keeping this up could be dangerous
I'm flesh and bone, I'm a rolling stone
And the experts say I'm delirious

Give me a therapy, I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling at everything
Therapy, you were never a friend to me
You can take back your misery

Arrogant boy
Love yourself so no one has to
They're better off without you
(They're better off without you)

Arrogant boy
'Cause a scene like you're supposed to
They'll fall asleep without you
You're lucky if your memory remains

Give me a therapy, I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling at everything
Therapy, you were never a friend to me
You can take back your misery

Therapy, I'm a walking travesty
But I'm smiling at everything
Therapy, you were never a friend to me
And you can choke on your misery

"Therapy is about every kids nightmare, when people are telling you to get help, but all you really want it a hug" -Alex Gaskarth.

I personally think this is his response to his brothers death. Its all about his feelings,

My ship went down In a sea of sound (HIS BROTHER DIED, ITS A METAPHOR) When I woke up alone I had everything (HE HAD HIS PARENTS ATTENTION)

A handful of moments I wished I could change And a tongue like a nightmare That cut like a blade (HE WISHES THING ABOUT HIS BROTHER, MAYBE CHANGING THINGS HE SAID OR DID)

In a city of fools I was careful and cool But they tore me apart Like a hurricane (HIS FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS GOT THE BEST OF HIM)

A handful of moments I wished I could change But I was carried away

Give me therapy I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything Therapy, you were never a friend to me And you can keep all your misery (HES A MESS, HE HAS THERAPY TO HELP HIM COPE BUT HE DOESNT FEEL IT HELPS)

My lungs gave out As I faced the crowd I think that keeping this up Could be dangerous (HE GETS ANGRY WITH HIMSELF AND EVERYONE BECAUSE OF WHATS HAPPENED)

I'm flesh and bone I'm a rolling stone And the experts say I'm delirious (HE SAYS HE'S NOT PERFECT)

Give me therapy I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything Therapy, you were never a friend to me You can take back your misery

Arrogant boy Love yourself so no one has to They're better off without you (They're better off without you) Arrogant boy Cause a scene like you're supposed to They'll fall asleep without you You're lucky if your memory remains (THIS BIT IS ABOUT HIS BROTHER, THE ANGER HE FEELS TOWARDS WHAT HAPPENED, HE THINKS THESE THINGS BECAUSE HE FEELS HIS BROTHER IS SELFISH, I THINK HOWEVER HE DOESNT MEAN THEM)

Give me therapy I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything Therapy, you were never a friend to me You can take back your misery

Therapy, I'm a walking travesty But I'm smiling at everything Therapy, you were never a friend to me You can choke on your misery

They are just my thoughts, if you have anything else to say, feel free to.

I heard this on leak, and it's been the best I've heard so far - I love it.

I think it means that one day he just woke up wishing he could change everything. He felt like everything he said was hurtful. No one knew he was a mess and sad/depressed. He played it off to his friends but by them not realizing he was sad made him even worse because even his closest friends didn't see. He thinks he needs therapy but he [possibly] had it before [when his brother died] and it didn't help. He thinks that facing his problems will just bring up all the misery and he wants to avoid that. He doesn't think he matters or made a difference in the world. That's pretty much what I gathered... but it could also be about his brother. I agree with whoever said that.

I think it's about his brother. He's reflecting back to what happened. The misery he's talking about is the suicide he committed. Also " Cause a scene like you're supposed to, They'll fall asleep without you, You're lucky if your memory remains". What hes trying to say is that the scene is the part where he took away his own life, whilst others just go to sleep and avoid him, and he could be one lucky person if people still remember him, as in if his memory still remains, which could be possible he had a lot of negative conflicts with others. This is kinda giving me the feeling they never got along well with each other, like any siblings. The therapy part means, he needs some sort of treatment to go through, because he couldn't take the fact his brother is gone, and still can't imagine it happened, and that it could have been all his fault due to bad imitation, where he says he's a walking travesty. " but i'm still smiling at everything ", he's trying to say, although his brother is gone, he's living his dream at the same time, being in a band, have great success and be happy that he made it in the music industry. I'm not trying to be a mean guy, i really love alex , he's awesome, but if this is about his brother, which is possible, then it means, his brother might have been a person who wasn't really gifted like alex, and might have not had many friends and was feeling down at times. I'm not sure if it is 100 percent about his brothers, it's just a thought. But this is still a song that really makes me wonder everyday, what the truth in it really is, if it's really about his brother, or someone else.

    i love this song.

i was thinking it's about having to deal with people who have done nothing but be mean to him. he feels like he's a sham but he's trying to be happy and not let it get to him. and even if he were to cause a scene no one would care to remember it later.

    Song Meaning

First off.. I just want to say I really love this song. It's beautiful and I think it has a beautiful meaning as well.

I think it's more of s story about how far life can take you through ups and downs. We often lose track of the days and walk around like fools, "I'm a walking travesty, but i'm smiling at everything." Travesty means a fool. I think what Alex as trying to say is that we often find ourself in a bad spot in life, but we can always fake a smile to seem happy, even though nothing is right. I could be totally wrong.. but this just what I think when I hear this song.

I think maybe this song is a little more angry than I had originaly believed. I suppose it may be about how he's upset with his brother for leaving him to deal with the consequences of his brother's suicide. (They'll fall asleep without you, You're lucky if your memory remains)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
