Congratulations for making this world a stage.
When the curtain falls our lives will vanish in applause.

Let this horrid scene be a one that lasts forever.
Lasts forever.

Triumph has its many faces.
Theres only one that will decide.
Triumph has its many faces.
Theres only one that is divine.
We can try and escape.
The fate has us by the throat.

I have never doubted death, never doubted death.
Look to the sky.Say your fucking prayers.

Devour what you thought was right
A pathetic script written by our fathers.

If only there was hope for our souls.
We would be home again.
And I've seen beyond these walls.
Take me home.

I haveopened my eyes, there was nothing
left for me.

Beyond the dead
So what if it's all a lie.
Where will we go from here.
Beyond the dead.

    Song Meaning

Ok guys I don't know where you are getting this new age spin off this song...mast0don is not even showing evidence and you're agreeing...but you fail to realize that the guy who wrote the lyrics is a Christian so it would be stupid to be dissing it like that right? Let's walkthrough this and see the real meaning:   "Congratulations for making this world a stage. When the curtain falls our lives will vanish in applause."

This is saying that you can live your life gaining the approval of man instead of God but it will get you nowhere in the end. All the fame and fortune is only a temporary thing that your wasting your life on instead of building for the future.

"Let this horrid scene be a one that lasts forever. Lasts forever."

This is saying that as long as they're is freewill the desire to live for the world will always be there giving us the choice to turn away from it for we cannot know good unless we know evil.

"Triumph has its many faces. Theres only one that will decide. Triumph has its many faces.  Theres only one that is divine."

This is saying that there is many directions in life that promise improvement to our life an many beliefs that claim they are the truth but in the end they all lead to destruction because there is only one way that leads to life and that is through Christ. He says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." God is the only one who is divine and He is the one who decides our fate. "We can try and escape. The fate has us by the throat."

This is saying you can try and ignore the truth and continue in your life of sin and reject the people who try to show you it, and as the Bible says you can convince yourself that they are condemning you but they don't have a need to condemn you because you are condemned already. You are walking straight towards destruction although you are blind and your pride makes you not realize the reality of what you are facing.

"I have never doubted death, never doubted death. Look to the sky.Say your fucking prayers."

This is saying that death can come anytime and when it happens if you are not right with God you have no hope so in reality your are doubting death if you are not not making damn sure that you know that when it comes you were on the right path. And then it says now is the time to turn to God and repent and put your trust in Him. The f word wasn't necessary but was likely there to stress that point.

"Devour what you thought was right A pathetic script written by our fathers."

This is saying that the life of sin that is passed on from generation to generation ever since the fall of man needs not to define you any longer. If you love God you hate sin. That is true repentance. If you hate sin you will do everything you can do to be righteous in every decision you make. When you are spiritually blind you see what is wrong as right. It says in the Bible that a fool does what is right in his own eyes. We justify sin in our hearts to be right but we were wrong all along.

"If only there was hope for our souls. We would be home again."

Jesus says that we must become as a child before we can enter His kingdom. This is saying that we must return to the innocence of a young child (before we knew wrong from right and were sinless) before we have hope for our souls and are have the security knowing that we are not enemies of God through our sin. Salvation is the only way for Christ is the pardon for our sin.

"And I've seen beyond these walls. Take me home."

This is saying that he is a witness of the truth. He's gone out of the box that sin traps us in and knows the reality. This is a declaration of his testimony and he is calling for home. For when you have been reborn you are no longer part of this world and the desire to come to your true home is heavy because you have no desire to gain this world which is merely temporary.

"I haveopened my eyes, there was nothing left for me."

Now that he is no longer blind he sees there is nothing he has truly gained from his life of sin and is now an enemy of the world which is blind and is rejected just as Christ predicted.

"Beyond the dead So what if it's all a lie. Where will we go from here. Beyond the dead."

When he is saying "beyond the dead" he is talking about "beyond these walls" for that is what was being repeated by the singer right after singing the part "I've seen beyond these walls. Take me home." The believers are "home" in the afterlife or "beyond the dead".

When it says "So what if it's all a lie. Where will we go from here?" he is saying that what if all it says in the Bible wasn't true and there is no afterlife? Then who cares? All we find is death and nothing beyond that. No big loss there.  But it is WAY better then to reject the Bible and not receive salvation only to find out you were wrong and the Bible was right. Because we can't decide after we have already died. That takes no faith and that is what our relationship with Christ is all about. If the Bible is true you will be facing God's wrath on judgement day. So it's far better to live for God and die and find out your wrong then to reject God and die and find out your wrong!!! And if you don't have salvation you are rejecting God because He says that if you are not with Him you are against Him!

I hope you now understand the message inside these lyrics and learn from them. Thank you.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
