"Diamond On A Landmine" as written by Jon Gallant, Aaron Solowoniuk, Ian D'sa and Ben Kowalewicz....
Woah, oh, oh
Woah, oh
Woah, oh, oh

Slapped my face, slammed the door
A dozen roses lay on the floor
I saw her friends and I was told
She blocked my number from her cell phone
You said we were meant to be
Now this obsession is killing me
Until I have a heart attack
I'll keep on trying to win you back

Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last
All I wanted was a second chance, second chance
To hold you in my arms at last

Forever, forever
I'll walk a thousand miles
Just to tell her, to tell her
Our love is still alive
And I'll never, I'll never
I'll never let it die
Well you'd better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine

I'm not so sure about this word
But she kept calling me insecure
I tried to quit but there's no use
Cause I'm addicted to her abuse
She's in control of everything
I'm just a puppet, she pulls my strings
Denying truth, I'll test my fate
And keep on playing this wicked game

Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last
All I wanted was a second chance, second chance
To hold you in my arms at last

Forever, forever
I'll walk a thousand miles
Just to tell her, to tell her
Our love is still alive
And I'll never, I'll never
I'll never let it die
Well you'd better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Waiting to explode

We're dancing on thin ice before
Frozen from the winter's cold
And if it were to crack below
I'd never let you go

Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last
All I wanted was a second chance, second chance
To hold you in my arms at last

Forever, forever
I'll walk a thousand miles
Just to tell her, to tell her
Our love is still alive
And I'll never, I'll never
I'll never let it die
Well you'd better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Waiting to explode

Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better watch your step
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better not touch
She's a diamond on a landmine
Better to forget
She's a diamond on a landmine
Waiting to explode

General CommentI'm almost certain that it's "That our love is still alive" not "that I was still in love".

General CommentSo far best song on this record hands down.....

I must say tho I picked up on something listening to the tune of this song. Heavy influence from the POLICE. The band must like them. Sounds a lot like music of the POLICE

My OpinionWhen he says: "you better what you step, she's a diamond on a landmine, waiting to explode" i think he means that the girl is precious, and of course he wants the diamond, but the landmine represents the pain he'd feel if he went to get her. I'm probably wrong. But anyways, thats what I think.

General CommentNow, heres what I picked up...
    "Slapped my face..."
    "I'm addicted to your abuse..."
    "Diamond on a landmine.."
It's about a guy who really loves a girl. The girl is abusive towards the guy, but the guy dosen't seem to mind. He really wants to get back with the abusive girls

Song MeaningFrontman Ben Kowalewicz (from Kerrang! May 30, 2009): "This song is our homage to The Police. We're such huge Police fans and have been forever. Jon, Ian and myself went to see their reunion tour when it came to Toronto. We met Sting's son - Joe Summer, who's in a band called Fiction Plane - and it turned out he was a fan of the band. He was a really nice guy. Ian is a big fan of the guitarist Andy Summers and he was rocking this riff. The story is about a guy who gets left by the girl, and becomes obsessed by making the girl love him again. That's one of my favorite songs on the album."

    General CommentThe missing words is..

    "Shes in control of everything"

Also it's "Slammed the door" at the start of the song. :)

I can really relate to this song because I'm in the same position myself. It's an amazing song, aswell as the album.
It's about a guy that will do anything to have a second chance with his lover but she's having none of it. Yet he won't give up on it and will keep on trying and trying.
Billy Talent will always be my favourite band, really pleased they've still got what makes them great.

General CommentThis song is about a guy who desperately wants a second chance with his girl but like the wildslothian said, she's not having any of it. It also metions that hes a bit insercure and weak and maybe she has a certain amount of control over him around a bit but he's still madly in love with her.

Drink and Fight you sound about right, when Billy Talent were writing III they listened to lots of Soundgarden, Nirvana and bands like that. I reckon this is album is their best. Devil on my Shoulder sounds so much like a Soundgarden song. Download some of that, you will see what I mean.

    My InterpretationWhat a great song.
Like others said, this is about a guy who will do anything to get his lover back, but it seems that he wants her back so bad, it starts controlling his life.
    "She's in control of everything
I'm just a puppet, she pulls my strings."
Becoming so obsessed with it, that that thought of getting her back is controlling the guy.
    Great song.
