    General Comment"crossing the rubicon" means going to the point of no return which is what this song is about for the band. They've reached the point of no return with this new album which involved firing a lot of people they felt didn't have their hearts in it or didn't have the same ideas and goals. There's no turning back now, etc. I think they've hit the nail on the head because with this new album, unless people are completely ignorant, will propel them into household names in the US.
