Well, how do you do?
A kiss on the cheek
It's been a while
So I'll just beg, borrow
And steal all your time

We'll call it dignified
Well now it all seems to be cut and dry
So I know which way to run
You're tired my love, I feel the same

Well, take it from me
What else could you do?
Ah where do you get off
And how can I get there, too?

All your time well call it dignify
Well, now it all seems to be cut and dry
So I know which way to run
You're tired my love, I feel the same, ah

You'll never come back
My god, can't you see that?
I know which way to run
You're tired my love, I feel the same
The Lebanon won't speak my name

Well, everyone's saying rise and shine
It might not be true romance is fine
'Cause I know which way to run
You're tired my love, I feel the same
The Lebanon won't speak my name

We're leaving this we're jumping ship
Ah, just give me a piece of mind 'cause I

    My Interpretation

I believe the song is about bumping into the ex-girlfriend after a bad breakup. She didn't break if off very gracefully; she just left and talked badly about him to everyone. She thinks he still wants to be with her. Even though he still has feelings for her, he wouldn't want to continue - he's tired of trying too. He just wants an explanation. I listened to a couple versions of the song and believe I have all the lyrics - it was tough!

Well how do you do? The kiss on the cheek It's been a while So I'll just beg, borrow and steal all your time We'll call it dignified Well now it all seems to be cut and dried So I know which way to run You're tired my love I feel the same

Now take it from me What else could you do? Well, where do you get off And how can I get there, too? All your time we'll call it dignified Well now it all seems to be cut and dried So I know which way to run You're tired my love I feel the same

You'll never come back My God, can't you see that I know which way to run? You're tired my love I feel the same The leather lung won't speak my name

Well everyone see it rise and shine It might not be true and that's just fine Cause I know which way to run You're tired my love I feel the same The leather lung won't speak my name Now even rats would jump this ship Just give me some peace of mind Cause I...

("Leather lung" is someone who is loud and outspoken. Took me forever to figure that line out! For the longest time I thought he was saying "tried" also, but then I heard an acoustic version, and he's definitely saying "tired".)

This song is about former lovers that run into each other. One has gone on to achieve fame, and the other is saying that he knows the truth about how the person really is. Underneath all the veneer, she is just a child, as is he. Here's my translation of this terrific song.

Well how do you do? A kiss on the cheek It's been a while So I'll just beg, borrow and steal all your time We'll call it dignified Well now it all seems to be cut and dried So I know which way you run You’re a child my love I feel the same

Now take it from me What else could you do? Ah, where do you get off And how can I get there, too? At the time we called it dignified Well now it all seems to be cut and dried So I know which way you run You’re a child my love I feel the same

You'll never come back My God, can't you see that I know which way you run? You're a child my love I feel the same The leather lung won't speak my name

Now everyone can see you rise and shine It might not be true and that's just fine Cause I know which way you run You're a child my love I feel the same The leather lung won't speak my name Now even rats would jump this ship Just give me some peace of mind Cause I...

I think it's "Now it all seems to be cut and dry", and then maybe "'Cause I know which way to run", but I'm not as sure about that part. But if so, then it's probably "So let them run, and speak my name". And then at the end, "Just give me some peace of mind, 'cause I..."

    My Interpretation

    here's my attempt::

"Well how do you do?" A kiss on the cheek "Hey, it's been a while" So I'll just beg, borrow and steal all your time We'll call you dignified Well not it all seems to be cold[cut?] and dry So I know which way you run You're tired my love, I feel the same, oh.

Now take it from me, What else could you do? Now where do you get off? And how can I get there too? Oh, in time, we'll call you dignified But now it all seems to be cold and dry so I know which way you run You're [a child?]tired my love, I feel the same, oh.

(Oooooh) We'll never come back God, can't you see? That I know which way you run You're tired my love, I feel the same, The loving[?] wrong won't speak my name, no!

Oooooh Oooooooh oooooh ooooh Will everyone see you rise and shine? It might not be true, well this is fine, 'Cause I know which way you run, You're tired my love, I feel the same, the [sounds like levenrong?] won't speak my name, Now even less, we'll jump this ship, Oh just give me some peace of mind Cause I...

"Now even this were jumping ship" sounds more like "Even rats would jump this ship"

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
