"Colourless Colour" as written by and Ben Hirst Elly Jackson....
You say it's coming
But I can't see it at all
You know me well, but I don't know you at all
No, I don't know you at all
It's always just on the horizon
So my hopes rise and fall
You know me well, but I don't know you at all
No, I don't know you at all

Early '90s decor
It was the day for
We wanted to play
But we had nothing left to play for
Colourless color
Once in fashion, soon to be scene
Once in fashion, soon to be scene

Been dreaming of blue skies
New horizon and sides from my eyes
The discovery of the unknown
Is something to tell the folks back home
I want to get away
To feel the sun on my skin
To feel it really
Sinking in

Early '90s decor
It was the day for
We wanted to play
But we had nothing left to play for
Colourless color
Once in fashion, soon to be scene
Once in fashion, soon to be scene

Early '90s decor
It was the day for
We wanted to play
But we had nothing left to play for
Colourless color
Once in fashion, soon to be scene

Early '90s decor
It was the day for
We wanted to play
But we had nothing left to play for
Colourless color
Once in fashion, soon to be rediscovered

General CommentYou can really hear the strength of her voice in this song, its astounding. I think this song is about the end of childhood/becoming a teenager (for example the reference to the early nineties). The lyrics seem to describe someone who is lost, whose world seems to change around them alot. Amazing song.

General CommentI read in an interview that it was about when her and ben had a break from each other. Elly hung out in a derelict mansion with some mates which had 90's decor, all creamy pink, not even beige "colourless colour". She then goes on holiday with mates and does "mushrooms".

General Commentyeah, the room her and another Ben (not Ben Langmaid) were writing in was full of 'early ninnties decor' which is where that part came from...not sure about the rest...

General CommentThis is my favorite song from La Roux. Elly's voice just sounds so beautiful in this song. I also love the lyrics, and the verse "I want to get away. To feel the sun on my skin. To feel it really sinking in"

General CommentI think it's a refuse heap of meaningless gibberish intended to seem brooding and profound to the target demographic of vapid hipsters.
