Couldn't let you love me
Had to put it in the soil
Buried it and gave you to the night
Didn't see it growing
Then you wrapped me in its leaves
Just in time for us to be torn asunder

How long can we go on with just the remnants?
Not fit to build a shelter but I'm trying all the same

Couldn't let you love me
Now I've put that in the soil
Buried it and mourned into the night:
"Such a beautiful heart, such a beautiful soul
Lead me to your house, lead me to your home"

How long can we go on with just the remnants?
Not fit to build a shelter but I'm trying all the same

I've lain beside you
You've made me content
It was always fleeting

Couldn't let you love me
Now I've put that in the soil
Buried all the times that I was hesitant

General CommentThis song is gorgeous. I love when it gets a little faster in the chorus. My favorite part is "Such a beautiful heart, such a beautiful soul. Lead me to your house, lead me home"

My OpinionI cant believe theres not more comments for this song! I really love it. As far as interpretation goes, Im not really sure, but I think this song is about a person who had been hurt and was afraid to love, and someone fell inlove with them, but the speaker didnt want to go through pain again so they took any feelings they had for the other person and buried them deep inside them. As fate would have it though, they werent able to help themselves, and with time, they started falling for the other person hard too, but by the time they figured this out, it was too late, their coldness caused the two to drift (just in time for us to be torn asunder), but the speaker still wants it, wants to fix things, and stop being so afraid, or hesitant, so they'll try to rebuild what they had, even though things seem impossible, because they know this love is real, and they arent afraid anymore.
