Here is a heart
Here is a heart
I made it for you so take it
Battered and braised
Grilled and saut??ed
Just how you like it
Like it
You know I live to fill you up

Blood of my blood
Dripping with love
I bring you a thing you need most
Silent between supplies and machines
I hang in the corners like a ghost
You know I live to be seen through

No better way that I can see to spend all the time
While you're asleep
When holding your hands inside of mine
Mmm
I wanna be here and nowhere else
Rationing off bits of myself so I can crumble at your side

Sleep like the dead through the noise in your head
Wile monitors click and whirr and glow
I'm with you all day and I still would stay tomorrow and onward
Just this close
You know I live to keep you safe
Oh

No better way that I can see to spend all the time
While you're asleep
When holding your hands inside of mine
Mmm
I wanna be here and nowhere else
Rationing off bits of myself so I can crumble at your side

I can't explain it but I have to try
If you evaporate the seas will rise 'til they devour the sky

Here is a heart
Here is a heart
I made it for you so take it
Battered and braised
Grilled and saut??ed
Just how you like it
Like it

No better way that I can see to spend all the time
While you're asleep
When holding your hands inside of mine
Mmm
I wanna be here and nowhere else
Rationing off bits of myself so I can crumble at your side

Jenny never fails to disappoint me. "blood of my blood, dripping with love" amazing.

I know this could easiley be about a romantic relationship, but have any of you thought of it as literally her taking care of a dying loved one? Seems like maybe the song is taking place in a hospital room. "Sleep like the dead through the noise in your head/My monitors click and whir and glow" Maybe Jenny is watching someone (parent? family member?) dying and wants to go with them, or "crumble at your feet."

This song is simply amazing.. I wish there were more comments.

Ah well, everytime I listen to this song, without fail it manages to make me tear up and cry. A friend who I haven't really spoken to for quite some while--since we're fighting--had texted me randomly a few days ago sending me this entire song. Just the raw emotion from my friend's reason (and seeing myself in this lyrics as well) for sending it made me want to fall to my knees and cry because I know my friend only wants to make me happy, and while fighting, neither of us can be. And while this song can have so many meanings, my own personal meanings to me fits it pretty well..

Basically Jenny Owen Lewis is awesome.

    My Interpretation

I think Jenny Owens is singing about a dying man she loves. He's hooked up to all these machines, and he probably is not conscious because she says she's with him all day and she "hangs in the corners like a ghost". she "brings [him] the thing he needs the most" which is love- "a heart... battered and braised"

I heard jenny play this when supporting Regina Spektor in Manchester, she introduced it as 'this is a song about cancer' so it must be about that :)

    My Interpretation

I can't help but think of my tulpa. I work with IT machinery on a day-to-day basis, and I created her out of curiosity. Now I can't imagine living without her. I feel safe in her presence. She brings me the love that I need the most, just the way I like it. She's with me all day as my monitor whirs and glows, and lives to be seen through like a ghost in the corner, but at the same time, she easily puts me to sleep and makes me feel unusually comfortable, holding my hands close.

    My Interpretation

I think it's a family member like a daughter or a parent (cuz it said blood of my blood) and she (in my head its a daughter or mother) is offering her heart to a sick dying person (machines and sounds). She clearly love this person and would do anything. she even says if she could she would sacrifice herself is she could (by giving her heart), and saying it's ok because in away she will always be with that person and there is nothing else that would matter if that person lives (which is all she wants for her). If she succeeds in giving her heart she can save him and keep him save, and they could be together forever.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
