And she would know
For it was she
Who said that I
I looked happy
In the photos
Where I would pose
With the pets
That I once had

But they're all gone now
To earthen bed

Don't yell at me
Cus you can't see
Who I am thinking of

You act as if
You've caught me with
Someone I used to love

Well, I guess you caught me
But you won't stop me
And I'll never have enough

I'm only talking
I'm only laughing
With the ghost of my old dog

But they're all gone now
To earthen bed

My OpinionThis is my favorite song on the album. It really strikes home with anyone who was really close with an animal, especially a dog, which never judged you or broke your heart, and never failed to make you happy.

General CommentI don't think this song is actually about his dog. My guess is the "someone he used to love" is the person taking the picture of him with his dog. There's someone off-camera making him laugh. When he sees the pictures he remembers something someone who wasn't there can't see, thus "don't yell at me cause you can't see who I am thinking of." The death of his pets is just symbolic of the way the past fades and the only thing left are memories/photos.
