"Truth Serum" as written by and Adam L. Levy....
I am not myself
but I think I've been here before.
I'm carrying a heavy load, a piggyback from Job
and I can't break the spell anymore

I am not myself
but no one seems to care.
It's a moving target,
one less than infinity,
it's a zero sum game.

What's the b-plan?
I'm all ears.
Something to take the edge off
It'll set you free
truth serum.
Spar with him.
Grow old with him.
Moloch court us.
But don't let them turn you into fodder boy.

I am not myself
Maybe I never will be
But you're too young to die
for something you don't understand, why?
I've loved you since you were born.
Don't go.

What's the b-plan?
I'm all ears.
Something to take the edge off
It'll set you free
truth serum.
Spar with him.
Grow old with him.
Moloch court us.
But don't let them turn you into fodder boy.

General CommentI thought it was about arranged marriage but Adam Levy wrote to me -- "i wrote that song about my son who wanted to go into the marines a couple years ago and fight in Iraq. it was a plea for him not to go.

Nice stab at interpretation, though. The Moloch reference is about parents sacrificing children for wars. "Spar with him, grow old with him but don't let them turn you into fodder, boy."
