I was born in the arms of imaginary friends
Free to roam, made a home out of everywhere I've been
Then you come crashing in, like the realest thing
Trying my best to understand all that your love can bring

Oh half of my heart's got a grip on the situation
Half of my heart takes time
Half of my heart's got a right mind to tell you
That I can't keep loving you (can't keep loving you)
Oh, with half of my heart

I was made to believe I'd never love somebody else
I made a plan, stay the man who can only love himself
Lonely was the song I sang, 'till the day you came
Showing me a another way and all that my love can bring

Oh half of my heart's got a grip on the situation
Half of my heart takes time
Half of my heart's got a right mind to tell you
That I can't keep loving you (can't keep loving you)
Oh, with half of my heart

With half of my heart

Your faith is strong
But I can only fall short for so long
Down the road, later on
You will hate that I never gave more to you than half of my heart
But I can't stop loving you
(I can't stop loving you)
I can't stop loving you
(I can't stop loving you)
I can't stop loving you with half of my

Half of my heart
Oh, half of my heart
Half of my heart's got a real good imagination
Half of my heart's got you
Half of my heart's got a right mind to tell you
That half of my heart won't do

Half of my heart is a shotgun wedding
To a bride with a paper ring
And half of my heart is the part of a man
Who's never truly loved anything

Half of my heart
Oh, half of my heart
Half of my heart
Oh, half of my heart
Half of my heart
Oh, half of my heart

Really, no one got this song but "xoxotinaxoxo"? I thought the song is awesome and pretty self-explanatory. Here's what I got from it:

"I was born in the arms of imaginary friends free to roam, made a home out of everywhere I've been then you come crashing in, like the realest thing trying my best to understand all that your love can bring"

He was by himself, don't have to worry about anything, go anywhere, does anything. Then he met her, and he gave it a shot to see maybe her love will change him.

"oh, half of my heart's got a grip on the situation half of my heart takes time half of my heart's got a right mind to tell you that I can't keep loving you (can't keep loving you) oh with half of my heart"

Oh but only half of his heart really figured it out, that this is a good thing, and the other half is slow on the uptake, still has no idea what's going on. The smart half of his heart, which understood this love, and understand that he can't lie to her, and has to tell her that he could never lover her "fully".

"I was made to believe I'd never love somebody else made a plan, stay the man who can only love himself lonely was the song I sang, 'til the day you came showing me another way and all that my love can bring"

He never thought he could love anyone, but himself. He was lonely, and then she came, and she shows him that it's possible for him to love, and he would be good at it.

"your faith is strong but I can only fall short for so long"

She believes in him, but sooner or later he'll screw up so bad, and she won't be able to let it go anymore (or so he thinks).

"down the road, later on you will hate that I never gave more to you than half of my heart"

and sooner or later, she will hates that she loves him (or so he thinks), because he could never love her fully.

but I can't stop loving you I can't stop loving you I can't stop loving you I can't stop loving you I can't stop loving you with half of my...

But he wants out, because he feels she deserves more than just half of his heart (he's still struggling to get away from his past self), and he doesn't feel right to love her with only half his heart.

"half of my heart's got a real good imagination half of my heart's got you"

Half of him is full of $*** because he was alone and got nothing (imaginary friends), and half of him found her.

"half of my heart is a shot gun wedding to a bride with a paper ring and half of my heart is the part of a man who's never truly loved anything"

Half of him will "marry her on a whim" (like a shotgun that just goes off), even if he only has a paper ring. And the other half of him never learn to love.

Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
