"Weathered" as written by and Cody Michael/czap Payne....
I felt unable; I was lying on my side in the same clothes from the very last night. I want to pray that I am doing everything right. I saw my mom die for the very first time. She was an angel - God took her from the sky, and there's a million other people that I found who cared more than I ever will. I held that note out, I grabbed my bag and I left through the door. I let my hair grow and put these words on my skin, I cannot relate. Would you believe in my songs if I gave them all to you? I can't find the strength in my voice to call you back and say that everything is bad without you and I am lost again, God believe I'm lost again. I stayed in bed and you took so much that I couldn't even sleep. I waited so long, though that wasn't even that bad. I never had to be a part of the world and I've been making that a goal for reasons that I cannot explain. Well, I'm an optimist but only in a perfect world. I think I'm too stained with all the negativity from all the people in my way. I took a trip down south; I felt the sun on my face, and it made things ok for a second. I drew a picture of my problems when I was going insane, and I focused on the currents. It's the funny thing about it, I never seem to worry that every single current's not the same. It's all about position and where I choose to lay; and god I am going away.

My InterpretationI vote this song best one off of Reach for the Sun.
It's beyond amazing, but probably because it's the one that makes the most sense to me.
I started listening to the dangerous summer about a year and a half ago and i immediately fell in love.
The lyrics are so freaking powerful, it's crazy. These guys are my favorite band, especially AJ. He's a sick lyricist.
So anyways, cutting to the chase:
I think this song is about AJ trying to pursue his career as a musician. He wants his mom to accept the fact that he wants to be in a band and play music full-time.
I heard that she kicked him out at one point and i think that the song talks how about how he's trying to stay strong, but that he's not all that hopeful (when he says "I want to pray that I am doing everything right.")
Favorite line of the song: "Well I'm an optimist, but only in a perfect world."

    General CommentI totally agree.
The dangerous summer is amazing period.
Not only do they have a great sound, they also have awesome, meaningful lyrics.
And i must say, this song is probably about his mom...
But I can see how it could be about a girl as well
"I cant find the strength in my voice to call you back and say that everything was bad without you" is exactly how i feel about a girl, its actually pretty funny, hes dead on.
I mean how fucking amazing is that line? All of them, Aj is amazing
A few other favs in this song...
"Well I'm an optimist, but only in a perfect world" and
"It's all about position and where I choose to lay..."
Ahh screw it, the whole song = ridiculous

    TDS is the BEST

General CommentI think this has to do with his mom dying. I think a lot of the Dangerous Summer songs have to do with him coping with his mothers death, and still trying to make her proud even though he wasn't a great son.

Thats just my interpretation, but yes this band is AMAZING

General CommentI love this song. Yeah, I would definitely say its about his mom. Though he's a guy singing he still has humanity. and the song is just so saddening at time, but I could listen to it all day.
