I see myself there waiting by the roadside
Laid claim to nothing but a black bag and the attire I stand in
No name, no history
Just a target on my temple and a hole in my head
I could’ve been one of kings

The shell of a boy of the man that I used to be
A monkey in a man suit
I stand here as nothing to you
Wind me up and watch me go

Lay down your guns
Cut me from ear to ear
Eye for an eye
The glass is long gone broken (x2)

I walk this road alone
No thanks to you (x2)
No thanks to

Load up your six-shot baby
Put it to my head
Pull the trigger, blank I’d figured
Put it to me, dead (x4)
DEAD!

Lay your guns down let me die (scars)
Why can’t you just let me die (don’t)
Lay your guns down let me die (heal)
Why can’t you just let me die (when)
Lay your guns down let me die (you keep)
Scars don’t heal when you keep cutting
Always cutting
Cutting deeper
Always deeper

Yeeeeehaaaaa

Scars don’t heal when you keep cutting

General Commentwow i love this song, but the title is off. It is supposed to be "I was once Possibly, maybe perhaps a Cowboy king"

General Commentthe bass drum during the "load up your six shot baby" breakdown is fucking wicked. - or at least on the album version, i don't really listen to the demo version much.

General CommentI agree with tylerxbrighten, the breakdown is for sure the best part of the song.

As for the lyrics, the "Load up your six shot, baby, put it to my head. Pull the trigger, blank I'd figured, put it to me dead" lines are probably referring to the game of Russian Roulette. It'd make sense.

    Sick band, sick song. <3

General CommentI think this song is pretty obvious. It is a failed relationship. The beginning is how he ends up (hence the target on my temple and a hole in my head line). The shell of a boy lines is, again, how he is left after the relationship ends.

The rest of the song is his bitch of a girlfriend (well, ex) just breaking him down and making him feel like shit. He feels worthless. The gun to the head is symbolic of her verbal abuse and how it is figuratively killing him. The "blank I figured" part in the breakdown is saying "you're trying to kill me with the things you're saying, but it isn't lethal."

The lay your guns down, why wont you just let me die lines go towards her again. He's saying "stop, let me just fade out of this relationship." Instead, she continues to insult him and belittle him. Scars dont heal when you keep cutting supports this as well.

I could be totally wrong, but this is the way I take it.
