And if I was a sailor
Id sail the seven seas
To tell you ?baby I don?t want you to leave?
You see this world is such a sad place
And without your pretty face
I'm sure its gonna wind up much worse

And I know that you?ll see someday that I can't live without you
And I know what I say is true cause I'm so stuck on you girl

I'm in love from the first time I let my eyes on you
I sure do do do do do
There?s nothing I can do
And I?m in love from the first time I let my lips on yours
Now you?re walking out my door
And there?s nothing I can do

And if I could explore the world
I?d bring you along
We?d go to New York to Timbuktu
But truly I am set
Right here at Denny?s drinking coffee and sharing a cigarette

And I know that you?ll see someday that I can't live without you
And I know what I say is true cause I'm so stuck on you girl

I'm in love from the first time I let my eyes on you
I sure do do do do do
There?s nothing I can do
And I?m in love from the first time I let my lips on yours
Now you?re walking out my door
And there?s nothing I can do

I?m in love with you.

"nevershoutalex" you OBVIOUSLY don't know how to read. I posted these lyrics after I saw a video of him singing it on youtube. I said I wasn't sure if it was happy or not, and if it wasn't, I would change the title of the song.

    My Interpretation

I think this song is about him being with a girl and the girl thinks he has nothing to offer so shes leaving and hes trying to convince her that hell always love her and to stay... agree?

@nevershoutalex, "Happy" is a whole different song. This is "Simple Enough". Don't comment unless you know what your talking about.

    Lyric Correction

K peopleeeee. Get it right. It's "Truly I am set" Not "Truly I am sad" Or "Cruelly" It's quite obvious what he's saying. You're all just retarded

I think it's about his ex-girlfriend Alison Jenkins. She was a year older than Chris and she moved to New York City. She followed her dreams and got out of Joplin.

    All by ear from videos.

I'm just assuming it's "Happy" because he's been playing it at his shows and he said it was going to be the first single from his full length and it'll be the first he posts from the LP, haha. If it's not, I'll just edit the name of the song ;D

to me it sounds more like "cruelly i'm set" instead of "truly i'm sad" but i'm not really sure

    These aren't the right lyrics

    there are.

You make me happy Whether you know it or not We should be happy That's what I said from the start I am so happy Knowing you are the one that i want for the rest of my days. For the rest of my days. Yeah all of my days.

You're lookin' so cool You're lookin' so fly I cant deny that when I'm staring you down and dead in the eye I wanna try to be the person you want the person you need its hard to conceive that somebody like you could be with someone like me

I'm happy knowing that you are mine The grass is greener on the other side The more I think, the more i wish That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce.

    ooh, ooh.

You're looking so fresh Its catching my eye! Why, oh why did i not see this before The girl I adore was right in front of me And now I'll take a step back and look in your eye And ask why it took so long to see we're meant to be.

I'm happy knowing that you are mine The grass is greener on the other side The more I think, the more i wish That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce.

on the good, the bad, the ugly The smiles, the laughs, the funny All the things we put each other through Its for you, for you, for you!

You make me happy Whether you know it or not We should be happy That's what I said from the start I am so happy Knowing you are the one that i want for the rest of my days. For the rest of my days.

I'm happy knowing that you are mine The grass is greener on the other side The more I think, the more i wish That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce.

    ooh, ooh.

Album art
Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Album art
Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
