This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Wait
Wait for me
I'm making you wait
Wait for me
Chained
Chained to me
I'm keeping you chained
Chained to me
The words I'm saying
They fall on deaf ears
and we fall apart
in the silence that divides us
Here
Chained to me
I'm keeping you chained
Chained to me
I wish your arms were glued to me
I know you want me to see
The words I'm saying
They fall on deaf ears
and we fall apart
in the silence that divides us
Here
It's here
It's here inside the silence
Here
It's here
It's here inside the silence
It's here inside the razor blade
It's here inside the choice you made
It's here inside the silence
It's here inside your broken bones
It's here inside the written stone
It's here
Wait for me
I'm making you wait
Wait for me
Chained
Chained to me
I'm keeping you chained
Chained to me
The words I'm saying
They fall on deaf ears
and we fall apart
in the silence that divides us
Here
Chained to me
I'm keeping you chained
Chained to me
I wish your arms were glued to me
I know you want me to see
The words I'm saying
They fall on deaf ears
and we fall apart
in the silence that divides us
Here
It's here
It's here inside the silence
Here
It's here
It's here inside the silence
It's here inside the razor blade
It's here inside the choice you made
It's here inside the silence
It's here inside your broken bones
It's here inside the written stone
It's here

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
