"Holdin' It Down for the Underground" as written by Thomas H Jr Denney, Alexander Thomas Shelnutt, Jeremy Wade Mckinnon, Neil S Westfall, Joshua Steven Woodard, Thomas H Jr Denney, Alexander Thomas Shelnutt, Jeremy Wade Mckinnon,...
Been through a lot this last year
Like everything I love is slipping away
And every time I come home
Somebody it isn't there
I got to get it together
I got to do things for myself
I've giving everything
Plus you take some from me
I need some room to breath

[Chorus:]
Come on come on
You know this isn't what we planned on
Come on come on
Tell me will be o.k.
(will be o.k.)
Lets go back lets go back
To a time where I
Still felt I had a family

This isn't what I remember
Everyone is looking
Out for just themselves
And need be I'd be happy to leave
?
I see straight through
That smile straight through
That painted face
Don't think I can't tell
Which one of you is against me

[Chorus]

I am the greatest thing that falls
I turn my back and look at the walls?

Pay attention!!!!

[Chorus]

Been through a lot this last year
Like everything I love is slipping away

General CommentI think it could possibly be:

"Just be warned, I’ll be taking my success with me"

General CommentActually merkedez the lyircs are
"I have the greatest faith in fools,
I turned my back and out came the wolves"

i actually have the homesick album and checked the right lyrics

    I love this song
I think the start of the song tells us of how he doesnt feel as a whole and someones just bringing him down and hes realising this by saying "I've gotta get it together"

Then the song i believe goes on to saying how everyones becoming so self involved and fake but hes standing up and saying that hes not buying it.

    Then i think
"I have the greatest faith in fools,
I turned my back and out came the wolves"
basically means that he put his trust into people he thought were friend to him but obviously they turned out to be liars and untrustworthy

    hope that helps guys :)

General CommentNow, I can't explain why, and it really doesn't make too much sense, but I suppose it could work. Here's what i hear.

"Just be warned, I'll be taking my SUNDOWN with me." I doubt its right, but from the way he vocalizes it, it sure sounds like it.

General CommentYou all had good guesses,
but I have listened to this part of the song over and over
and I finally figured out what he says,
    the correct lyrics are,

If need be, I’ll be happy to leave
Just be warned, I’ll be taking my SUITCASE with me

It makes complete sense when you listen to the song, also.
