"Don't Close the Book" as written by Michael Bruno, Jason Rosen, Andrew Lee Schmidt and Alexander Noyes....
In Chapter One
You were my summer crush
Chilled at the beach from dawn to dusk
Under my umbrella

In Chapter Two
It got more serious
Changed from you and me to them and us
And we fell like other leaves
But the leaves got swept away
And the rain bled us off the page

Please don't tell me
It's the end of the story
Don't close the book on me
Don't you close the book on me
We've gone our separate ways
But we'll meet up on another page
Don't close the book on me
Don't you close the book on me

In Chapter Three
Went off and chased a dream
To catch a ghost that's haunting me
But it's been scarier to be without you
But I know that in the end
I'll need some time to take a pen
And write a chapter on my own

Please don't tell me
It's the end of the story
Don't close the book on me
Don't you close the book on me
We've gone our separate ways
But we'll meet up on another page
Don't close the book on me
Don't you close the book on me

If you bookmark this page
In time, you will see
But if you have nowhere to turn
You can turn back to me
Turn back to me
Turn back to me

Yeah, yeah
Please don't tell me
It's the end of the story
Don't close the book on me, babe
Don't you close the book on me
We've gone our separate ways
But I know it's gonna be okay
Don't close the book on me
Don't you close the book on me

General CommentNo Comments? Seriously? I love this song! and Honor Society is actually a pretty good band-i can't wait to hear more from them...
I really enjoy this song (not just because the of the Jonas Brothers lol)

but I love the meaning behind the song...it's about dreading the end of a relationship. It kind of reminds me of on the outside looking in...and it's about realizing everything you had-and appreciating and finding the greater purpose. I relate to it a lot, because I dated my best friend-and we'd been best friends since we were in diapers-and i dated him...and i realized that I liked him just as a friend-we were better off as friends...and I was so scared of ending the relationship out of fear that things would be different and that we wouldn't be the same. Even though the relationship ended (eventually), we never really gave up on each other. We're still best friends and we haven't gone our separate ways-we've grown even closer. and, it can be hard just being friends with someone you broke up with-but if you really want to make it work, it will. That's how I think of this song.

General CommentMore people need to learn to love Honor Society.

fhcxc2010 is dead on, so I'm not going to bother with the meaning. :)

General Commentalthough fhcxc2010's interpretation is definitely a way of understanding this song...i think of it differently.

okay, so they started off being best friends. and they were really close...and they were always meant to be together from the very beginning. and later in their lives, they realized what was meant to be all along so they became more to fulfill that. and although they were so in love...something changed. whether someone cheated, or there was a misunderstanding, or they just grew apart for whatever reason, they weren't the "them" they used to be. but i personally think that they had to find themselves. and to find themselves, they couldn't have each other. so they separated. but the writer of this song knows they're meant to be together, and at some point in their life, they'll find each other, because thats what they were meant for all along.

General Comment "[Don't Close the Book] was one of the last songs we wrote before we left the East Coast. It was really a simple song but so layered with meaning for our fans, families, and friends back home." says Alexander Noyes. It really does have meaning to us fans in the East Coast. The song says "...Went off and chased a dream..." , they wen to California to chase their dream, and now they are living it.

I am so proud of them.[:
