Checked my pulse
Said all my prayers
Walked a thousand miles
Haven’t gone anywhere.

The table’s set
Change is gonna come
I’m a patient man
But it’s been too long.

I’m waiting for something to happen
I’m waiting for something to happen.

I’m on the road
And driving fast
Keep my ass straight
Steer away from the past.

I kissed your face
And I’ve made you laugh
Remember me
If I make it back.

I’m waiting for something to happen.
I’m waiting for something to happen.
It’s fading, that something to happen.
I’m waiting for something good to happen.

Tonight I see my own reflection
Staring back at me
Traveling with no direction
I follow faithfully
Faithfully.

I’m waiting for something to happen
I’m waiting for something good to happen.

Checked my pulse
Said all my prayers
Walked a thousand miles
Haven’t got anywhere.

But I walk on
I walk on.

The table’s set
Change is gonna come
I’m a patient man
But it’s been too long.

But I walk on
I walk on.

General CommentWell, from a brief peek at the lyrics, I'm pretty sure this song is self-explanatory. Read the title, right?

To expand on that, I see it as a man wandering through life, procrastinating happiness, and generally being a pinball from one event to the next. All of his life has been empty. I even think the man's gone through life, driving on a highway, and when he gets to his destination, doesn't remember how he got there.

On another note, this new Our Lady Peace record better not suck.
