"Clocks" as written by and Sierra/harnage Kusterbeck....
since that clock's first tick
a dark hue and fear driven (lives)
its only real till it ends
as the stars fall, on our heads
call the wind the thief for stealing their prayers

look at us shake the sky
pulling the whites from my eyes
and as the hands are spinning
they're waving good-bye
a test for more, is what you're striving for
as we sleep, we walk

(can't awake)
can't awake the ones who live this life
(not on our own)
because people are the same (we are the same)
only habitats change (habits change)
but your starry eyes, no, they dont tell me a thing
(starring over heavy heads)

look at us shake the sky
pulling the whites from my eyes
and as the hands are spinning
they're waving good-bye
a test for more, is what youre striving for
as we sleep, we walk

I swear, I felt you crawling under my skin
I swear, oh I swear
towers won't fit our view
forget the man in the mountains, follows you
he follows you

but youre starry eyes, no, they dont mean a thing
as we sleep, we walk (x4)

General CommentThis song is definitely about death, but I think it mught also have to do with wasting life and being afraid of achieving your goals or making an impact before your time is up.

"Call the wind the theif for stealing their prayers" - putting the blame on someone else for not getting what you want in life.

"Look at us shake the sky" - Making your mark in the world.

"And as the hands are spinning, they're waving you goodbye" - like escapeyourself said, the clock is counting down how long you have left to get where you want.

"As we sleep, we walk" - although we are concious and alive, we are completely oblivious and might as well be asleep, we aren't doing anything with life, as if we're hibernating.

"Can't awake the ones who live this life (not on our own) because people are the same (we are the same) only habitats change (habitats change) - you can't change the way people want to live their life because they always have the same habits and the same way of doing things, i.e. wasting life.

"I swear, i felt you crawling under my skin" - The annoyance that people feel about others wasting life.

"Forget the man in the mountains, follows you" - the "man" represents death and how there's no way to avoid it, so stop waiting for it to come and spend your time doing something worthwhile.

This is just my interpretation of the song, so sorry if it sounds stupid :)

General CommentIt's about a relationship and the other person feels like their partner isn't putting enough effort into their relationship, actually, I dunno hah.

General Commentits probably inspired by literature. Blake likes to write epic songs not really focused on love or people in love.
