Dare I
ask you this? Where do you stand
as a come and go acquaintance?
I’ve been pondering around this
bond for sometime now. Where have
you been hiding in? Is it in the
tall forest?

Won’t he listen to
the voices calling his name? Will
he attempt?

I’ve been laying on
the other side, where they are all
waving “goodbye” behind a fake
frown. Feeding lies to the ears of
a brother that has been lost,
trying to find a way back home
but stumbles on the roof he made
wandering

As he barks the words
that have no meaning, I try to
paint a picture in my mind of how
things used to be. As you say your
speech, the blank static screen is
trying to make the channel clear
but, gets interrupted by your
careless heart.

Walking backward,
straying away – looking at me with
a face afraid of being a false
witness to this never-ending case.
The thought of empty-handedness is
having its way. So stop running
away from me. [Sinking down, falling away from me –
please help]

Away we go tonight, but
we’re far from our goodbyes. The
end lies in your hands as we are
keeping set minds.

I’ve been
laying on the other side, where
they are all waving “goodbye”
behind a fake frown. Feeding lies
to the ears of a brother that has
been lost, trying to find a way
back home.

It’s an empty page
with growing age. It’s bound to
flourish again.

General CommentThey have a bunch of rubbish lyrics, but this is an incredibly sick song, especially the original version with the male singer.

General CommentHey everyone, My fav song by theirs apart from maybe clocks. Im going to have an attempt at decoding these lyrics, with what I feel they mean. Obviously you can agree/disagree, as everyone takes different meanings from lyrics.

So overall the song seems to be about a bad relationship between a brother and sister, whereby the brother has either been forced out of the house, or has left on his own accord but hasn't bothered to stay on touch with the sister.

    Dare I
ask you this? Where do you stand
as a come and go acquaintance?
    I've been pondering around this
bond for sometime now. Where have
you been hiding in? Is it in the
    tall forest?

** The sister is questioning the so called 'bond' with the brother, as he has been back and froth so much that the term come and go acquaintance seems more suited. Where have you been hiding suggests that she can;t get in touch with him when he's away, and can also suggest that the brother is hiding from whatever he left behind. The tall forest could be linked in with a personal place between the brother and sister, or could be a metaphor for hiding away your fears, using the tall trees to protect you.

    Won't he listen to
the voices calling his name? Will
    he attempt?

** Won't he respond to the people back home calling out to him? Will he attempt to answer back and keep that bond.

    I've been laying on
the other side, where they are all
    waving goodbye behind a fake
frown. Feeding lies to the ears of
a brother that has been lost,
trying to find a way back home
but stumbles on the roof he made
    wandering

** This is an interesting section. I've been laying on the other side where they are all waving goodbye behind a fake frown, the people waving goodbye could be the family and friends who the brother is running away from, they might be putting on a fake frown because they want the brother to think he will be missed (frowning because they are concerned for him) however they actually want him to leave, because it is a fake frown. She's laying on the other side, could mean she's been living with the family, the other side.

Feeding lies to the ears of
a brother that has been lost,
trying to find a way back home
but stumbles on the roof he made
    wandering

** again the family might have been lying to the brother saying not to go and he will be missed, bit it's a front, but it doesn't matter anyways because the brother is lost, he's already gone in his mind set and will leave. Maybe the brother doesn;t feel like home is home, and so goes seeking trying to find a way back home. Not sure on the last line, he might have stumbled on the sister (metaphorically) on the wya out.

    As he barks the words
that have no meaning, I try to
paint a picture in my mind of how
things used to be. As you say your
speech, the blank static screen is
trying to make the channel clear
    but, gets interrupted by your
    careless heart.

** The only words that are spoken between the brother and sister might just seem like barks just to stop the sister complaining, and the sister knows they have no meaning. The way things used to be are so distant she trys to paint a picture. As he says his speech (he doesn;t meaning it) the blank static screen (the sister) is trying to make what the brother is saying into what she wants to hear (a meaningful explanation) however it gets interrupted by the reality of his careless heart.

    Walking backward,
straying away looking at me with
a face afraid of being a false
    witness to this never-ending case.
    The thought of empty-handedness is
having its way. So stop running
away from me. [Sinking down, falling away from me
    please help]

** He's walking away from the relationship, looking at her with a face that is pretending everything is ok, and tryign not to let his guard slip. last section is quite self explanatory

    Away we go tonight, but
were far from our goodbyes. The
end lies in your hands as we are
    keeping set minds.

** Tonight their breif visit ends, however the sister won;t let this go, and so knows this isn;t the end. However she knows that the end lies in the brothers hands, she has tried all she can and will always be there, he is the one who now has to do something if they will ever be the same. He has to change his mind set.

    Its an empty page
with growing age. Its bound to
    flourish again.
    me]

** The relationship between brother and sister being like a book, and now there is nothing as he isn;t there, and the blank pages are growing as time goes on and the longer he isn;t there. It's bound to flourish again show that she still has faith in his return/

Well there you go, I gave it a shot, that's what I feel it means. However this could easily be used about a girlfriend or someone you had strong feelings for.

General Commentactually this could be about a suicide or someone that attempted or was thinking about it.

    Won't he listen to
the voices calling his name? Will
    he attempt?

    a brother that has
    been lost.

    idk, just a thought.
