I was never quite good enough
Well, I guess I never really put enough...
Effort. And I guess her mind wasn't
Focused on me, she denied loving
Her backyard but I guess she wasn't looking for it
We didn't speak the same thoughts like I took foreign
Languages of relationship (I don't want you to go girl)
As in the back of my mind she would think I'm faking it

If I told her how I felt
How I truly felt
Newly developed thoughts are unusual
Because she doesn't leave me
She doesn't love me, she doesn't need me
She doesn't think of me in the same way i think of her
I give to her the world as she wishes her
Smile opens up my eyes
It's a joke that I'm alive
When my lonely shaped heart beats itself coincide
It's my own stubborn mistakes
I wont find love in this place or this state
I might as well rip my record intakes
Cause I am going in no direction
My best friend is the only question
Cause I don't wanna lose her
I don't wanna confuse her
I don't wanna make her choose this ___
Truly, I know she doesn't feel the same way
I just need to get her out my brain waves

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I hope they sing whooOOooaa

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I know I sing whooOOooaa

When she has relationship problems
I'm the first one there, I can solve them
I just wanna see her happy
This can't be happening life just crashed on me
See the truth is I always wanted more but
I wasn't sure cause she was so important
And now I'm on the floor cause
I don't want you to go girl
I'm lost again, loss of oxygen
And since you've got to win
I'll be your hostage then
Once more I'm invisible
This love's not insensible
Now I'm ___ a fucked up song
But it's pulling out strong
But your tongue is a firearm
And I'm awake at dawn
And I'm sorry mom, but I just cant go on
I'm just a pawn in the game of God
Once more I'm invisible
This love's not insensible
You'll never be seen as my queen except in my dreams
And your tongue is like a firearm

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I hope they sing whooOOOooaa

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I know I sing whooOOoaa

She ripped my heart in half
So I hope he loves her on my behalf
I hope he treats her like royalty
He stays loyal, he continues to spoil these
Wishes she desires
He loves her, makes her heart pump til it's tired
And he makes her laugh
I hope he realizes what he has
He has everything I want
Everything I ask for, act nonchalant
So she doesn't know I'm up every night
How could something so painful feel so right
And I better stay away
Cause if I see him kiss her lips
I might break down
I wish she could see me differently
I'm nothing more than a friend, insignificantly
Cause he has taken my girl, he's taken my world
And I swear if he ever breaks her heart
I will never stop, I will chase him down
Because I told him not mess with a man
Who's in love with a woman
Who's got another man cause she's never thought he's good enough
Well I got news, I will never ever stop till she loves me too
Yeahhh

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I hope they sing whooOOooaa

And she was playing in the game
But she never played with this one
And she was searching for the brightest star
But she missed one
And all those guys never knew what they had in the midst of it
I know I sing whooOOoaa

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
