Be, Be the charming type,
Take off your gloves and show what they hide,
Please, please my naked wrists,
With your hands and fingertips
And please, baby get on your knees,
Don?t bare bare bare your teeth,
I?ll let you try,
If you close your eyes,
I?ll have an answer for your ass!

Chorus:
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love!

Why, be charming kind,
Oh you?ll get yours,
When I get mine,
Oh no, it?s not for me,
If you?re too good,
You won?t be free,
And please, please I?m on my knees,
I wanna feel feel feel your teeth,
Get on your knees,
Baby get on your knees,
I wanna feel feel feel your teeth!

Chorus:
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love!

(Oh no, just just, wait, no, you gotta wait, oh no, oh no please!)

Chous: (x2)
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love,
There goes my love love love love love!

    Song Meaning

It's unbelievably obvious as to the meaning of the lyrics. Oral sex. It's also obvious the type of self-centered "gimme" the writer is… "…you'll get yours when I get MINE."

Regarding the single disputed word, "ass," "whys," or "wives;" since "ass" isn't even close (in sound) to "whys" & "wives" either The Blue Van released two versions or the person providing the lyrics to this site didn't actually take the words from the song but from another (inaccurate) source. My question regarding this word is simple: If the word is "wives" it would indicate the singer is referring to homosexual oral sex since he (in such case) is singing to a married man. If the word in question is "whys" it could mean (and sorry for getting graphic here, but given the nature of the song, it's virtually impossible to avoid) he's warning her that she should protect her eyes from his… release, which can be very painful when gotten in the eyes.

I could continue by focusing on the more subtle points in this song but the issue: "What does this song mean?," has been addressed so why bother.

I DO, however, have a question for APPLE COMPUTER, Inc.… this is the second extremely sexualized song they've picked to promote one of their products. Given the amount of time, money & effort that's put into creating a television commercial, it's NO ACCIDENT that these songs were used. So my question to Apple, Inc., is: Why have you decided to take this path? It's totally unnecessary to promote & associate yourself with such actions & behaviors. You don't have to promote yourself as "Mr. Morality" but you also don't have to try for "Slut of the Month." You're a role model for the youth of America… do you REALLY want yourself (which includes EVERY SINGLE STOCKHOLDER) to be associated with a man pressuring a woman (or another [married] man) into the humiliating position of being on his/her knees while you shove your reproductive organ into that person's mouth for YOUR pleasure? If you answer yes, I guess it's time we, as Apple customers, wake up and begin looking for products sold by companies that won't make us feel slimy and dirty inside for using your products. Pretty soon, you'll find it necessary to include a free box of condoms and a brain squeegee with each new "iProduct!"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
