Why does everyone keep speaking when they know that no one is listening? Why do we all keep pretending that it's something better that we're seeking? What if there is no eye in the sky and we've been killing for nothing? And who's to say that we won't buy a lie if it graces the covers of magazines?

Truth be told, we're just flesh and bones.
And we don't know what we don't know.

Truth be told I never even lost it, I just started asking some questions about it. The answers would shake me and doubt began setting in as my mind and my heart start a-racing. Then I would start wondering what I'm even doing here, it's not my fears I am facing. Trying to prove that I've lost something valuable, just makes me feel like I'm lying.

Using my head for once I'm realizing that I have been barrelling through life, heart first. One of the hiccups I've found so compelling could never be explained in a single verse so I must rehearse and be patient. It'll all come back to me. I will be ready at the drop of a hat. I've spent the last five years feeling defeated, guess all I'm sayin' is I want my megaphone back.

Like Dave said, "when you're a kid, the stars only come out at night." We didn't doubt it, it just didn't make much sense at the time. Now we're all older but not much wiser, feeling burned-out on bonfires, but we remember our indian summer when we lit up the sky.
