"The Fear" as written by Lily Rose Allen and Greg Kurstin....
I want to be rich and I want lots of money
I don't care about clever, I don't care about funny
I want loads of clothes and fuckloads of diamonds
I heard people die while they are trying to find them

And I'll take my clothes off and it will be shameless
'Cause everyone knows that's how you get famous
I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror
I'm on the right track, yeah, I'm on to a winner

I don't know what's right and what's real anymore
I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear
'Cause I'm being taken over by the fear

Life's about film stars and less about mothers
It's all about fast cars and cussing each other
But it doesn't matter 'cause I'm packing plastic
And that's what makes my life so fuckin' fantastic

And I am a weapon of massive consumption
And it's not my fault, it's how I'm programmed to function
I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror
I'm on the right track, yeah, I'm on to a winner

I don't know what's right and what's real anymore
I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear
'Cause I'm being taken over by the fear

Forget about guns and forget ammunition
'Cause I'm killing them all on my own little mission
Now I'm not a saint but I'm not a sinner
Now everything is cool as long as I'm getting thinner

I don't know what's right and what's real anymore
I don't know how I'm meant to feel anymore
When do you think it will all become clear
'Cause I'm being taken over by the fear

General CommentI love this song. It's so true at how people look at publicity and becoming famous.
'I'll look at the sun and I'll look in the mirror' is obviously about people looking to the papers to gage their success (The Sun and The Mirror newpapers).

It's pretty self explanatory and I just love the way it's taking a good look at the people we're forced to idolise. Young girls care about getting famous so much they will take their clothes off to get there and it's a sad thing when you see what it's come to.

General CommentThe best song Lily Allen's ever written. Really, really good. I wasn't ever really a fan of hers. Her previous songs were catchy but nothing great and I just kinda forgot them after a while. But I'm very pleasantly surprised with this. She's done a good job here. I like how she's taken her experiences of being famous and turned them into such a great song. She's a very witty lyricist.

General CommentYeah its a pretty fun song. A half sarcastic look at, and half confession of her life in the public eye. A bit of a stab at some of the more pious celebrities too I'd imagine. Little self-reflection thrown in the chorus too.

General CommentI think "I'm packing plastic" is about credit cards, because the next line "I am a weapon of massive consumption" is all about being a consumer, or a shopaholic.

General CommentI LOVE this song...the lyric's are so real

I think its about how she see's young people growing up...craving material stuff over the important things in life....The chorus is about herself as she doesnt know whats real anymore due to the people around her being so stupid...it's her "fear"

General Commentwow glad I read these lyrics when the line came up (And I am a weapon of massive consumption
and its not my fault it’s how I’m program to function)
I thought she was saying I have a massive consumption that islam will fall becuase thats how our programs are functioned.
haha don't know why I heard that hardly makes sense still kinda sounds like that when I go back and listen to it.

General CommentI think it's about how being famous and having loads of money is messing with her head abit. The video kinda goes with that idea as well, it's all surreal and overly nice and kinda werid.
