Take, take, take, take…
Take what you will and then please be on your way
But I have nothing to lose, so you have nothing to gain
Were we going along or just going alone?
And I can’t bare the thought of this now known

And you can say what you will, I just don’t get what you say
I see you’re going to go - “hell yes you’re going away!”
Slamming the doors and saying things they don’t mean
I bet the feelings will change as soon as she leaves

But she thinks she’s right and he knows he’s wrong
Yet they argue all night still nothing is solved
It all seems pointless, can’t we stop this?
Incessant Madness!

Get up, get up!! And this won’t wait for tomorrow
Fist up, it’s up, man I don’t want it borrowed
What rhymes with that I’ll write it down on paper…
Cuz I don’t like owing people favors.

Wait for the thrill and will it still come your way?
Naw man, you’ve gotta be sure of every step that you take.
If you’re the one in the rough or from Sierra Leone.
I said the difference is null you’re are all on your own.

Shake on the deal so you can both walk away
You’ve got to savor the kill, so you can flavor your breaks.
And I have said it before and I don’t need this dress
When worse comes to worse is when we’re all at our best

She’s right, and he knows he’s wrong
Yet they argue all night, nothing’s is solved
It all seems pointless, can’t we stop this?
Incessant madness!

Get up, get up!! This won’t wait for tomorrow.
Fist up, it’s up, man I don’t want it borrowed.
With lies like that you’d write it down in papers
Cuz I don’t like owing people favors…
but that’s cool…

But oh won’t you…
Get up, get up!! This won’t wait for tomorrow.
Fist up, it’s up, man I don’t want it borrowed.
Get up, get up!! This won’t wait for tomorrow.
Fist up, it’s up, man I don’t want it borrowed! oh no…

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
