"Capitol City" as written by Chad Robert Cates and Matt Wertz....
Listen close
The monuments are whispering your name
I'm standing strong
Knowing that we'll never be the same
It's getting hard to fake
CHORUS:
But as you go your own way
Remember, do not be afraid
Because you're right where you should be
In Capitol City
Yeah, I know
There's better things right now for you than me
You're growing up
Those squinty eyes are just starting to see
Everything you need
BRIDGE:
Say the word
It's all I'd need
To catch a plane
Make you believe

General CommentIt sounds like he and his girl recently broke up. He's telling her that her moving on without him is what she needs and it's the right thing for her. I think it's hard for him to let her go but he's putting what's best for her before what he wants....her. He's still in love with her and all she has to do is say the word and he'd be there for her to maybe try things again. I love Matt Wertz. He and Matt Nathanson are two of my favorite artists who have some genius lyrics.
