"You'll Never Hurt that Way Again" as written by Al Anderson and Hal Michael Ketchum....
He gave you long nights full of loneliness
A heart full of little white lies
You wore a brave smile through the emptiness
But I saw right through your disguise

When it came down to the breaking up
Your past was so easy to see
You should have known that a life alone wouldn't save you from someone like me

‘Cause God knows as I'm standing here
There's an angel in every tear
And I swear by all that you've been through
You just take my love and then
You'll never hurt that way again

Close your eyes and imagine this
Two hearts filled with nothing but love
You and I each and every night with nothing but heaven above

‘Cause God knows as I'm standing here
There's an angel in every tear
And I swear by all that you've been through
You just take my love and then
You'll never hurt that way again

God knows as I'm standing here
There's an angel in every tear
And I swear by all that you've been through
You just take my love and then
You'll never hurt that way again

Take my love and then
You'll never hurt that way again

My InterpretationThis song speaks of two people, one who was involved in a bitter and empty relationship. The other, though he is almost a stranger, has most likely had the experience; he is there to bring her a love without the pain of betrayal.
