Every other question youll never find the answer to
They can hear us but we will never see them

Do you feel safe?
Do you even understand me?
Do you even understand me?

We make no difference when numbers count for nothing
We make no difference if choices have been made
When your path has already been walked
When your hourglass is fooling you

What can you rely on?
Time is our only friend, now

If my life was to end today, It wouldnt change the world in any way

This sudden realisation is tearing me apart
This life is so perfect
What can be said of the end?
What will happen when our time comes
Who will stand the final test of time?

This life is so perfect
What can be said of the end
Will we be resurrected?
Who will stand the final test?

General CommentBasically, I reckon it's about death. What happens after it - "every other question you'll never find the answer to." No one knows, no one ever will know, or that's the chance anyway. Also, Numbers count for nothing, in title and in the lyrics is a great idea, and a totally true point. Numbers don't count for jack shit, and the "If my life..." line, is true, in a morbid and sadistic sense... "one death is a tragedy, 1 million is a statistic" I believe it's something like that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

General CommentWe'll yes it is about death but it is more of an existential outlook on life itself. "numbers count for nothing" the name describes the song, it's just a way of saying nothing really matters in the end. we're all dead. by dying today it wouldn't change the world, cause no one's life really impacts the world because at the end of it all, when even humans are no more, life it self has no meaning. ;)

General CommentI don't know if I'm right but I think it could be those two things and also suggesting the idea that there could be a higher power that controls what happens in the world.
-'They can hear us, but we will never see them.'

I think it could be that or the song is about how everything is down to fate.
-'If my life were to end today, it wouldn't change the world in any way.' This could mean that if something happens, such as someone dying, it was meant to happen at that time or whatvever.

Also, the fact that the name of the song is numbers count for nothing could mean that the song is trying to show how humans have created numbers, measurements, etc. to create structure that they can work around, but these things don't really exist because someone, someday just made them up.

Just my take on the song, but I think you guys' ones are right as well, it could be about all of these things
    Awesome song though! :D

General CommentI think the sudden realization stanza is more about the band and the realization of everything's impermanence. He loves it all, but it's going to end eventually and when it does, will they be forgotten?

Everyone else here has a good take on it too
