This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Well I didn't tell anyone, but a bird flew by
Saw what I'd done he set up a nest outside,
And he sang about what I'd become
He sang so loud, sang so clear
I was afraid all the neighbours would hear,
So I invited him in, just to reason with him
I promised I wouldn't do it again
But he sang louder and louder inside the house,
And no I couldn't get him out
So I trapped him under a cardboard box
Stood on it to make him stop
I picked up the bird and above the din I said
That's the last song you'll ever sing
Held him down, broke his neck,
Taught him a lesson he wouldn't forget
But in my dreams began to creep
That old familiar tweet tweet tweet
I opened my mouth to scream and shout,
I waved my arms and flapped about
But I couldn't scream and I couldn't shout,
Couldn't scream and I couldn't shout
I opened my mouth to scream and shout
Waved my arms and flapped about
But I couldn't scream I couldn't shout,
The song was coming from my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth
From my mouth

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
I love this song! It's all about guilt. The bird is a metaphor for her conscience, and she tries to kill it so nobody finds out about her 'crimes' (what she's actually done seems pretty irrelevant) but in the end she has to confess to what she's done.
It reminds me of that Edgar Allen Poe story, Tell Tale Heart. Oh, I really love this song, it's such a good song to get a bit angry to.
i adore this song, and i adore florence and the machine. the version i have is acapella and it, as well as the lyrics, show off how fresh she is cant wait fr the album!
just a small change :)
it's 'a bird flew by, and saw what i'd done. it set up a nest outside...'
i love this song though! i saw a live performance of this where she explained what it was about and then said 'so that's why you should never eat chicken' LOL. bless her!
x
thanks! i did it by ear so y'know can't be perfect xD
what did she said it was about? xD
what did she said it was about? xD
Holy F. This song is so good.
the beginning isn't right:
"Well, I didn't tell anyone but a bird flew by saw what I'd done and set up a nest outside etc..."
you're right, but I did it from the accapella vesion rather than the album version, however i will change it now :D thanks!
actually instead i've just changed the name :)
I love this song, the intro for it is amazing, espcially live :)
Even more this makes sense that the instrumentent version.
She ate it up but it's making her sing about her guilt in the song itself.
