Riad N' The Bedouins
Had a plan, and thought they'd win
But I don't give a fuck 'bout them
'Cause I am crazy

Oh, my salvation
N' all my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one had wove as well
Somewhere in time
Where only I could tell
Ooh

Riad N' The Bedouins
Say that's a war that you can't win
But I have had enough of them
And who can blame me

Sands of time and desert winds
Nomads and barbarians
I won’t bend my will to them
You aggravate me

Oh, my salvation
N' all my frustrations
Caught in the lies
No one had wove as well
Somewhere in time
Where only I could tell
Ooh

Oh, sweet salvation
Like all my frustrations
Caught up in lies
No one had wove as well
Somewhere in time
Where only I could tell

Oh, sweet salvation
And all my frustrations
Caught in the lies
If you have wove so well
Somewhere in time
Then only I could tell
Oh

Riad N’ The Bedouins
Had a plan and thought they’d win

Riad N’ The Bedouins
Crossed the line and lost again

General Comment:Riad = Love. Bedouins = Nomads. This song talks about how life is for wanderers and homeless people in the Middle East and how no one (especially in the Western world) really cares about them.

General Comment:"Riad" could be a reference to The Story of Bayad and Riyad, an Arabic love story. It's also the term for a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden (from Wiki).

The Bedouin are a group of Arab nomads who were partly the inspiration for the Fremen in Frank Herbert's novel Dune.

General Comment:About lovers and people looking for love I beleive.

Riad is a city in the Middle east that means love, and bedouins are wonderers, simialar to nomads..

    That's what I think anyway.

General Comment:The city is Riyadh, not Riad, and it is the capital of Saudi Arabia.

General Comment:This song is about Riad, who loves to conquer, but he quickly discovers someone who is more intelligent than him and lost the final battle. It reminds me so much "Genghis Khan" of Maiden

General Comment:I don't think the song is directly about 'Riad and the bedouins' in a subject way. I believe it's about a person who has had very bad experiences with love and expressing it to someone, to a level that he's going insane. He doesn't want to be reminded about his misfortune and experience more of the shit he has gone through (But I dont give a fuck 'bout them/But I have had enough of them), so he slowly starts to isolate himself from love and human feelings.

My Interpretation:If this had been a single everyone would have thought it was racist. Good job Axl forked out for the rights for Martin Luther King Jr. speeches and samples from Mississipi Burning to ensure nobody had such outrageous ideas.
