You say you gotta go and find yourself
You say that you're becoming someone else
Don't recognize the face in the mirror
Looking back at you

You say you're leaving
As you look away
I know there's really nothin' left to say
Just know I'm here
Whenever you need me
I'll wait for you

So I'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

Take your time I won't go anywhere
Picture you with the wind in your hair
I'll keep your things right where you left 'em
I'll be here for you

So I'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

And I hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you
Come back to me

I can't get close if you're not there
I can't get inside if there's no soul to bare
I can't fix you I can't save you
It's something you have to do

So I'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

Come back to me

So I'll let you go
I'll set you free
And when you see what you need to see
When you find you
Come back to me

And I hope you find everything that you need
I'll be right here waiting to see
You find you
Come back to me

When you find you come back to me
When you find you come back to me
When you find you come back to me.

I have had this song on repeat for the last week. My best friend and I aren't talking, due to her smoking WAY too much pot, and this song is comforting. It's exactly how I feel about the whole thing. When you figure out what's going on in your life, then get back to me.

    Gotta love the Cookiemonster!

Its based off an old saying. my mom says it to me all the time... "When you love someone, let them go. If they return, than they're yours to keep. If not, they were never really yours to have." simple and easy :)

Though David didn't actually write the lyrics to this song, he interprets them in his own personal, unique way each time he sings them. He takes the message and makes the listener believe that he represents the words.

"Come Back to Me" is obviously about a separation...though for how long, it's not certain. One person in the relationship has lost their sense of identity, so they leave, and in these lyrics, their partner is stating their desire and almost desperate need to see them again...

I think this song means: ok, i need to find myself and i'll be gone until i find me. and david is waiting for her until she is back with her regular self. David sets her free and waits and waits. He also mentions he can't do anything unless she's there.

My mom and I have come to the conclusion that this song was written for the sole purpose of David losing his brother. The song lyrics, "When you find you, Come back to me" can be interpreted as, "I'll be here waiting when you get better" I think David desperatley hoped his brother would get better and he is remembering all the good times they had but he knows he isn't coming back.

I think this song is all about a couple that is in love, but one of them feels like they need to explore other options. They just aren't ready for a serious relationship.

Have been playing this song almost nonstop over the last couple of weeks. It is what I hope I can find in love someday. Someone willing to step back and recognize that sometimes you have to let the one you love work through things on their own, but support and love them through their journey.

Question though: I can't get close if youre not there I can't get inside if there's no soul there I can't face you (this sounds to me, and makes more sense as: I can't fix you) I can't save you It's something you have to do

    Anyone else?

lsmalplz, I got the lyrics to this and all of the other songs from this album off of davidcookofficial.com back in November when the album first came out. Someone has pointed out to me that they have since removed the official lyrics from the site, but I got them back in November so I feel fairly certain that they are correct. DCO had that part as

I can't get close if you're not there I can't get inside if there's no soul to bare I can't fix you I can't save you It's something you have to do

Some may argue with these or hear it differently but this is how they first appeared on his official site. And I've seen him in concert three times and this is how I've heard the song every time.

This song plays every time I'm at work. Always does. And I can't help but get upset, cause I feel like this sometimes. I want to leave my boyfriend, and every time we get on that rocky conversation, he always says, "You can go look for yourself. I'll wait right here." It kills me. I love the song, just hate the current situation.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
