"If You Don't Wanna Love Me" as written by James Morrison, Martin Brammer and Steve Robson....
When you lower me down
So deep that I
I can't get out
And when you're lost, lost and alone
Yes you'd think it was a liars place
You'd come back for more
If you don't want me to leave
Then don't push me away
Rather blow out the lights you can watch it all fade
But I'm going nowhere

I'm gonna stay
When you just wanna fight
When you're closing you're eyes
'Cause you don't wanna love me
I'm gonna stay
You can't push me too far
There's no space in my heart
When I don't wanna love you

My InterpretationThis song gets me in a way that reminds me of everything that I've never gotten that I was absolutely sure would make me the happiest person alive; it's about wooing that person that you know you could have had, that you could have made happy, had they only given you the time of day. It's about that reluctant love, the one you don't want to feel for someone, the kind that hurts you, but at the same time, you know you cannot stop. It's the fact that that person only sees what's wrong with you, and not all of the things that you think that you could change for them, had they only given you the chance. "You can't push me too far, there's no space in my heart where I don't wanna love you," is the reluctance to ever let go "If there's nothing to lose, then what is this feeling that keeps on bringing me back to you?" and this is the feeling that everyone has when they simply cannot get over a past love that they know will never love them back. It all ties in beautifully. My favorite James Morrison song. It's so relative. (:

My InterpretationI believe this song is about a guy with hope, hope that this woman he was involved with will eventually grow to learn that his commitment and devotion into trying to make love work. So in terms, he is going to wait (stay) for her because he is so certain he's in love with her "there's no space in my heart where I don't wanna love you" to the point where he doesn't want to "go no where."

He mentions the word fighting which I think signifies her willingness to avoid her feelings for him because she doesn't want to see "closing your eyes" all of the evidence of her true feelings but for certain reason; she doesn't want to love him whether it be she isn't ready or some other particular reason.

Ultimately, he has nothing else to lose (because he's already lost her) but to let her know that he still has something for her "what is this feeling that keeps me bringing me back to you" so he's gonna stay (wait).

General Commentto me, this song is kind of about how his lover is trying to resist their love. Maybe she's scared or something, but the line "if you don't want me to leave, then don't push me away" makes me think that she's pushing him away cuz she's scared of getting hurt and he's just trying to reassure her. So mainly this song is expressing how he's willing to stick it out and stay even though she's trying to push him away.

i think that the line "and when there's no storm, how can i feel the calm" is saying that if there isn't a storm of emotions [i.e. mixed emotions.. love hate fear etc about the relationship] then how can he get to the calm, or the point of apathy where he doesn't love her anymore. which is why right after he says there isn't room in his heart for that.

he continues to say that if he does leave, they're still going to feel alone and afraid... meaning that if he doesn't stand by her and show her that it's okay, then she'll never get over this fear of commitment and falling in love.

the last chorus, where he's talking about the tears he's cried i think shows that even though this is hard on him, because she's saying no, he's willing to endure it and stay.

why did you fucking pushed me away when i needed you the most? Its not all only about when you need me!

'You can't push me too far
There's no space in my heart
When I don't wanna love you'

True. there isnt such a place.. I want to love you with every single piece of my heart...

    'Then what is this feeling
    That keeps on bringing me
    Back to you'

Its love... theres something about you..

General CommentNot sure if It's just me, but it's sort of being confused about the one you love because they keep pushing you away when all you want is to stay.

General CommentI think this is a commitment song.. in long term relationships the hills get bigger and live can get stale.. I'm gonna stay no matter what, we can get past this part
